Happy Halloween from Qui-Gon and Maul!I donβt know about you, but if I was a Force ghost I wouldnβt have resisted the opportunity to occasionally 'haunt' the person who did me in. Nothing mean, just a friendly and loud 'Hi!', preferably in the most unexpected and inappropriate moments.

I wanted to do a nice animation for this but I accidentally saved something wrong with the layers halfway through, so all you get is a very sloppy gif of Maul moving his eyes.

I can see this happening in an AU but in a more serious manner.Β Like if Anakin was fighting Maul, Maul was practically torturing him to tell him where Obi wan was but Anakin doesn't give up anything.Β Then Qui gon distracts Maul long enough for Anakin to get away.Β I can see this in Rebels.

I want to write a fanfiction based off of this so bad that would take place during the Clone Wars CGI series...

"By the Guiding Light of Darkness". However, I am not quite done with it yet... It was supposed to be a series of one shots for shits and giggles... Then it kind of grew... Into an actual story... With plot. And characters... So many characters, both old and new. The entire thing just grew before I knew it. I only have a bit of a prologue actually written, the rest is all timelines, character sheets, and a bunch of notes and scattered paragraphs...
So, yeah, it went from Qui-gon popping up at random places just to drive him from insanity and towards the light-with tons of shits and giggles-, into an interconnected emotional adventure of a rag tag group of convenient alliances-or so they keep telling themselves. Together they band, seeking revenge for the wrongs done to them. However, where you place the blame is not always where it belongs...

Will do! Right now I am touching up the prologue and once I get the first five chapters written after that I will begin posting a chapter a week, unless shit hits the fan with life.
Just be warned... A few original characters are in this, one in particular plays an important roll. I tried to have an already existing character play the part, but none really fit the bill, and those that might of couldn't because they have other rolls to play in the story. So, I had to make one up. Eh, the galaxy can always use a few more bad ass old ladies anyway...

I won't forget! I added a post it note to my desktop just to remind me! Right now the biggest thing blocking me is how to start... I am caught between picking it up from the end of Episode I, following cannon up until that point and then diverging... Or having an alternate ending to the duel on Tatoonine and going with that... What do you think?

I would start on Tatooine if this is the case. That way, you could change up Obi-Wan's story, as well as Anakin's. It had been Qui-Gon's idea to bring Anakin into the jedi order. If he had died, then it's not likely he would be able to enter, as Obi-Wan wasn't sure about him joining either. Remember, in episode 1, the Obi-Wan we see isn't as mature as the one in 2 and 3. It would also be unlikely that he'd face Maul on Naboo, and two other jedi would take the place of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan on the fight for Naboo. Meaning Anakin would not be there to blow up that separatist base in space. If your goal is to keep everything in regular continuity, then I wouldn't start on Tatooine, and would instead stick with the canon up to the end. This way, Anakin would join the order, and Obi-Wan would remain....almost the same, since Maul would win the battle.Β
Just keep in mind, if Qui-Gon dies to early, then some characters may be altered a bit. If you wish for everything to remain almost the same, then I'd suggest you stick with the final fight on Naboo. I hope this opinion helps.

... Dude, you rock... Could I use your picture for the cover? I know FanFiction lets the writers have different pictures to go with stories. Credits would all go to you for both the idea and the picture of course. It would be AU as hell and crack... So much crack... And OOC while still being in character somehow... Maul's expression demands it to be so...
