Nothing much, I like the design. I just felt that it was too reminiscent of tigers, even though sabre-toothed cats aren't really ancestors of tigers. But I guess it's a design choice as well.

well the reference pic I used was a tiger so I thought that the stripes would also work nice on smilodon

i was referring to genus, not species, but you are right, as Smilodon populator could get to a hefty weight of about 1/2 a ton.

no, i was speaking of weight. if a Smilodon was to pounce on a human, i have little doubt the impact would be fatal.
