Description Learning from the drawbacks of the Barbarossa, Harrison Armory attempt to design a mech capable of delivering the Apocalypse Rail power at a reasonable speed. The Apocalypse Burst Lance is a cut down version of the Apocalypse Rail, trading its range and mass devastation capability for a smaller size, capable of being mounted on a speedy size 1 mech.

Mounting such a powerful weapon on such a frame does not come without problem, however. The Apocalypse Burst Lance range is abysmal, and draws so much power that outside of the Lance, the Zhukov is armed with only a single aux slot. It's ridiculous heat generation is also capable of easily overwhelming the mech's tiny heatbank, causing prototype versions of the Zhukov to melt down after a single shot. The Apocalypse Burst Lance weight also put tremendous stress on the mounting socket, sometime failing during testing.

In attempting to fix the issue with the socket, the designer came up with an ingenious solution to solve all the problems in one go. The re-designed Apocalypse Burst Lance contains its own heat bank and heat sink, and the Omnimount can not only handle the recoil of the Apocalypse Burst Lance, but also allows the Zhukov to quickly shunt all the heat generated from firing the Apocalypse Burst Lance into the Lance itself, and then detach the weapon from the mech, allowing the mech to continue operation with no heat issue, albeit now missing its main weapon. The Omnimount is also capable of quickly accepting new weapon on the fly, allowing Zhukov's pilot to re-arm on the fly with enemy weapons after its main Apocalypse Burst Lance has been discarded, or to simply reattach the aforementioned Burst Lance after it has cooled down.

The Zhukov itself is built around the strength and limitation of the Apocalypse Burst Lance, being a fast size 1 mech in order to quickly close in with priority target due to the weapon's short range, and mounting heavy frontal armor to help it survive the approach. Even its shielding system, located in its sole left arm, project a dirrectional shield instead of the usual shield sphere seen on the likes of the Saladin. All combined, the Zhukov is exceptionally hard to kill from the front while maintaing strong mobility, capable of devastating alpha strike to take out priority target early in an engagement. However, after it's opening barrage is finished, it is left with poor back up weapons, forced to scrounge around for weapons from destroyed enemy mechs to replace its Lance.
