great auroras!! i would highlight some stars in the background. about the auroras the blurred part looks great, the neated part also looks good but a bit unreal (fractal brushes, right?)

Yeah, it was a fractal brush. I tried it your way, but it wasn't looking right. The fractal brush was a one-off before I gave up completely, and it just happened to work. It's just a fractal brush slapped over the poles, duplicated, and radial blurred on zoom.
Now that I think about, it wouldn't have hurt to move the top fractal cluster down to be more like the bottom one, where it hugs the planet.
