Description Mask and costume made for The Elder Scrolls LARP
I used paper mache and colored it with acrylic paint. The jaw is mobile and moves when I talk.

That is easily the best lizard person mask I have seen at any larp. Looks great. You got any other photos? A video of the jaw movement would be great too.

These are the best pics I had, and I didn't film it, sorry. I always forget to photograph my costumes properly. But I'll do it

Thanks btw!

I like the solution you found for making "snouts" (especially the one above left) while still using your own eyes. The faces seem to "work", turning a human head into... something else.
DoesnΒ΄t the paper machΓ© (consisting of water-soluble glue and paper) kind of "melt" when breathed on for a longer period?

I use glue for wood, it's water based but once it dries it can't be effected by water. Also, I shaped the nose with close-cell foam and then paper machΓ©-ed over it with enough layers of paper and glue that it's almost unbendable. I wore this mask for 8 hours and nothing melted

For durability you might think of spraying it with clear Plastidip (A spray on rubber coating). It shouldn't damage the paper mache, though you might want to do a test sample to check.

Yeah, I should. I covered it for now with acrylic varnish so the paint doesn't come off in case of rain or something. But there's about 10 layers of paper so it won't brake that easily

I am glad its tough enough for larp

I especially like the cowl on the on in the top left image. It really looks like it could be part of a reptile's neck.

I wanted to make it more close fitting to the neck but I kinda did that last minute so there was no time
