The sad thing is, I have a friend named Alec who, in my mind, is exactally like Alec from the books (minus the straight hair...) After I read the first book, I saw him and hugged him. All I said is "I'm so glad you aren't dead, that would kinda blow." following with an explanation of why he would be dead in the first place. xD
