PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personality:

| + Optimistic | + Altruistic | + Organized | + Disciplined |

Happy go lucky and a go getter, Sun-hi is always taking confident strides to become a better version of herself. Rarely will you ever find her in a bad mood! All her years in taekwondo has taught her to be very big in respect, especially towards her seniors (she's not above pranks and snarky remarks though)! She knows when to keep pushing forward and when to stop. It's also why she's so organized! Running on a tight schedule, Sun-hi got her day planned to a T, but that won't stop her from adapting and helping those in need! If there's something Sun-hi can do for someone, let her know and she'll give it her 100%!

| = Determined | = Creative | = High-spirited |

Sun-hi is a lively girl and is determined to make the most out of her day! She loves seeing things through and checking things off her checklist. You won’t see this gal leaving things unfinished! Sun-hi may not be the highest ranking student in her class, but she certainly knows how to think outside of the box! She loves challenging herself by solving problems in the most unorthodox ways!

| - Materialistic | - Financially frivolous |  - Finicky | - Sensitive |

Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Sun-hi always got what she wanted so it's no wonder she turned out to be pretty materialistic. Whether it's the newest high tech model of mascot suits or designer bags, Sun-hi always wants to get her hands on it and wants more, more, and more. The amount of money she can burn on a daily basis doesn't help her either. Sun-hi tends to spend impulsively and without thought because she can afford to. She doesn't value much of her material belongings simply because she could always buy another one. It’s also due to her wealthy upbringing that Sun-hi has the tendency to be fussy about a lot of things whether it be her food, clothes, or the arrangement of the dojang’s equipment. She always wants things done in a certain way and feels bothered if they’re not to an extent that it inconveniences others. Sun-hi doesn’t take insults and harsh criticism very well. She takes whatever is directed towards her to heart and can’t hide her hurt at all. She is also acutely aware of when she has wronged another, but has the tendency to be unsure of how to mend their relationship. However, seeing difficult situations as a chance to grow is what helps Sun-hi move forward and do the right thing.

BIOGRAPHY:

Mascots, clowns, and taekwondo were the defining features of Sun-hi’s childhood. If Sun-hi wasn’t at school, then she could be found at Koko Planet, a nationally acclaimed amusement park located in Seoul owned by her father. The rides were fun, but what truly caught the young Sun-hi’s eyes were the mascots and clowns roaming around the park handing out goodies and posing for photos. While some kids ran away for dear life away from clowns, Sun-hi readily ran into the arms of the colorful jesters and pleaded for a rainbow unicorn balloon animal. They were so fun and colorful! She wanted to be just like them!

However, mascots and clowns weren’t the only thing that caught her eye in the park! Every few months or so large groups of kids and teenagers arrived by the busful to Koko Planet, proudly donning their bright white dobaks. They looked so cool! Who were they? Her father was overjoyed when his daughter expressed great interest in the students visiting the park. They were practitioners of taekwondo gathered to compete in tournaments hosted and sponsored by her father himself. After watching a full day of competition, Sun-hi decided she wanted to be just like the black belts she saw perform. Without hesitation, Sun-hi vocalized her interest in learning taekwondo. Her father happily obliged, with tears in his eyes, and off she went to start her lifelong learning in taekwondo at the tender age of 5!

… but didn’t she want to be a super fun clown/mascot? Who says you can’t have more than one dream?

All throughout primary school Sun-hi dreamed of living a fantastic double life as a super cool taekwondo master by day and super cute mascot/clown by night. She could never choose between the two and decided she wanted to do both. Admittedly, taekwondo was a lot more difficult than she imagined. For one thing, there were a lot of etiquette and behavioral rules the antsy Sun-hi had a hard time abiding by. It wasn’t the same as running around freely in an amusement park. She also wasn’t naturally talented as well. For someone who got everything they wanted instantly, it was frustrating for her as she struggled to barely be approved for testing for the next belt. However, with a lot of encouragement from her family (especially her father), instructors, and even the clown ahjusshis when she told them her struggles, Sun-hi decided to press forward! Through time and hard work, Sun-hi slowly learned that taekwondo wasn't just about looking cool and getting a black belt; it was a life style and a tool to help her grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Taekwondo, Koko Planet, school, learning to make balloon animals, and trying out mascot suits filled Sun-hi’s time in her adolescent years.

By the time Sun-hi turned 15 she had achieved her second black belt, participated and placed in several tournaments, and started her formal mascot and clown training with the workers at Koko Planet. Most importantly, Sun-hi was at that age where one starts thinking about what one wants to do with their adult life. Due to her deep love for Koko Planet, Sun-hi toyed with the prospect of one day owning the park. Alongside her older brother, Jong-hyuk , Sun-hi worked various jobs throughout the park from ride operator to sanitation during her summer breaks. When Sun-hi was 17, Jong-hyuk gave up his bid to inherit the park in favor of inheriting their mother’s real estate business, leaving Sun-hi to inherit the park. With her future secured, Sun-hi decided to get the most out of her youth and enter a college where she could enjoy both of her passions: taekwondo and her clown job.

Having endured long hard hours of studying and crying (mostly crying), Sun-hi managed to earn the grades needed to attend a good university. Sun-hi nearly applied to clown school, but her longtime teacher at the dojang, Cho Ho-seong, persuaded her to look into his alma mater, Seungri College, and even offered to write her a letter of recommendation should she choose to apply.  After a tour of Seungri College and a sneak peek of their taekwondo department, Sun-hi applied to the school believing this was the best environment to continue both her academic and taekwondo studies.

No one said juggling taekwondo, classes, and work was easy- but you can bet that this black belt clown will get it done! Seems like Sun-hi did manage to fulfill her childhood dream of living a double life as a taekwondo master and clown/mascot… well she’s not officially a master, not yet.

  • Public bathrooms: War flashbacks of cleaning Koko Planet’s bathrooms intensifies

  • Prada: THIS IS A GUCCI HOUSEHOLD PEOPLE.

DREAMS:

Aside from inheriting Koko Planet and further improving it, Sun-hi wants to one day produce a show that features a crossover of both circus and martial arts acts! She wants to show the world the beauty and fun of two very different disciplines that she loves. Sun-hi also wants to continue practicing and studying taekwondo well into her old age. While competitions were fun, she enjoys the self-improvement aspect of the art much more. But hey, if she’s good enough to get into the Korean Olympic team she isn't going to turn down that opportunity either. Clown school and joining a circus troupe is still plan B though.

TRIVIA:

  • Sun-hi’s father (Hwang Chul-soon) is childhood friends and best friends with the owner (Cho Ho-seong) of the dojang she attended. They grew up learning taekwondo together, so it’s no wonder Sun-hi’s father is an ardent supporter of the martial art and enrolled her into his best friend’s school. They sometimes take family vacations together! She has accidentally called him uncle in the dojang on a few occasions.

  • Sun-hi’s mother makes the most money between her parents as a real estate mogul. Her father actually had to beg his wife to help him start up Koko Planet.

  • Sun-hi attended elite private schools growing up, but her parents had to pay for extra tutors since she struggled to understand the course material the first time around.

  • Was the literal class clown in primary school since she loved showing off cool tricks she learned.

  • Works as a mascot/clown for Koko Planet! She loves seeing the happy faces of kids and their families!

  • Has previously worked as a ride operator, manned a food stand, and worked in sanitation during high school summers per her father’s request so she could get to know the park and its employees better.

  • Other talents include making balloon animals, face painting, and juggling!

  • If you need a clown/mascot for a kid’s birthday party, don’t be afraid to hit up Sun-hi! She’ll do it for free!

  • Has a sizeable collection of mascot suits. All tailor made and built with the latest high end A/C tech!

  • Rides a unicycle to get across campus. Walking is for chumps.

  • Can be found juggling and practicing her clown tricks around campus in between classes.

  • One of those creepy morning people who is too happy to be awake at 5:30 AM

  • Tried to impress previous crushes with juggling and other tricks. It never worked though.

  • Sun-hi is super petty when it comes to boys. Having been little sister zoned by every guy she ever liked, she isn’t the most trustworthy wing woman unless she isn’t into the one she’s supposed to be helping. (She likes older guys and lowkey wants to be pampered.)

  • May or may not have showed up to the dojang with clown makeup still on her face.

  • Sun-hi’s always wearing some sort of high end clothes or accessories, you’ll never catch her without it.

  • Collects stickers!

  • Fashion idols include Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn!

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Hwang Chul-soon: Owner of Koko Planet, Sun-hi’s father, and #1 supporter! He spoils his daughter rotten and encourages her to do as her heart desires. He was low key celebrating when she chose Seungri College over clown school.

  • Hwang Ji-yeon: A real estate mogul and Sun-hi’s mother who has a more rational brain than her husband. While supportive of both of her children’s life choices, she’s still skeptical of Sun-hi’s plan B of going to clown school and running away to join a circus act if everything else fails.

  • Hwang Jong-hyuk: Sun-hi’s older brother by only two years. He’s just a high-spirited as his younger sister and has a tendency to be loud and boisterous. He was originally slated to take over Koko Planet until all those scorching summers of working various jobs in the park led him to the decision that he would be better off taking over their mother’s business instead (working in a fur suit was the last straw).  He's a practitioner of Judo and currently attending Seoul National University as a business major.

  • Cho Ho-seong: Sun-hi’s longtime taekwondo teacher and owner of the dojang she attended. He’s best friends with Sun-hi’s father and has a familial relationship with the rest of the Hwang family. Sun-hi calls him uncle outside of the dojang and takes his advice with the same weight as she does with her parent’s.
