Speedpaint - 3hours. I've not had time for anything complex because i am in the last days my "Bachelor of Art" degree.I dont want to be out of practice, so I am going to do some of them in my spare hours in the next time.
We are going to use that as a story background setting in our current game which we are developing at the moment. We chose this swampworld as the birthplace of one of our alien races. For more information visit www.die-game.com

hey you use the burn/dodge tool? or just all different colors?
anyhow, nice work.

nope i dont use the dodge and burn tool. I choose the colours before i start and than i pick them during the painting.
you are not the firt one, who is asking this question so maybe i am going to to an Tutorial for this
You need only practise for that, its realy easy

I've been practicing. It's tough for me to create such lighting with just colors. I find myself using the dodge/burn tool all the time

wow, I love the mood of this, and the environment, even though this is a speed paint it feels very detailed and you can really get a sense for the place. Wonderful job! I am always in awe for people that can be creative and come up with great backgrounds. I am more of a creature character designer, and need practice on backgrounds. I am starting a graphic novel at some time where I could use talent like yours! Great work!

I love the use of all the different greems and swampy colours you used to create this image. I also enjoy your use of brushing with the colours to create a rough but effective look of the given scenario.
