i've been coming to this site for a short while, and this is my first submission to deviantart, it's of a pencil drawing i did way back, about 4 or so years ago. i'm planning to submit more of my work soon, any constructive criticism and suggestions are welcome."It's better to burn out than fade away...

Pretty typical Kurt expression sad that he is no longer around but I know he is never forgotten. I'm amazed by the fine detail in his hair and eyes and everything really. I think the only thing I would have improved was the white spaces of the backgground showing though his hair. Other than that is looks wonderful.

Wow. I love the contrast between the careful shading of the face, and the intricate execution of the beard, against the chaos of his hair there. I LOVE it.
It looks like you had fun with this piece because of it. . . Not stuck in achieving perfection, and not just scribbling. Excellent work.
Gripes? Above his left eye (viewer's right), you could have added a little more depth by shading just a notch darker right above the eye, to give a feeling of the browbone being closer to the the front. . .or something.
In any case, this is wonderful. Keep up the great work, and welcome to DA!

VERY realistic and well done. i like the way u use pen. i used to draw so i really appreciate the obvious talent here ! also i like how some parts are rough and "sharp" and others more smudgy, it gives te pic more lively feeling.

When I first saw a thumbnail for this, I thought it was a photograph, but when I actually see it up close, it's a sketch, good job my friend! Very nice. +fave

other than the hair on the sides, I would say it looks photographic

Excellent work. Looks just like him, from his dirty unwashed and unkempt hair, to his wide, angel looking wide blue eyes. Impressive. The only problem I can see with it is that the two ends of his mouth are stretched slightly to widely, and are defined too sharpely... it kind of doesn't match with the overall texture and contrast of the rest of the piece. These are minor nitpicks though. Overall, one hell of a good piece of work here. What medium did you use... normal graphite? If so, excellent job again, in getting the darkness and richness of the shading, particularly on his outer clothing.
