I'm a musician rather than a visual artist, but I'll offer my take on improving your style and spending more time on work. In my experience, the best thing to be working on is the thing you want to be working on. If that means spending 100 hours on one piece, do that. If that means spending 1 hour on 100 pieces, do that.
The important thing is that you spend the time. You will naturally get better over time, regardless of what you do, but you may as well enjoy the time, and be productive. My attempts to force my creativity have never worked. My greatest music always comes when I do what I feel like.
Great art can't be worked at, it comes naturally from the ether. All you can hope is that you've got brush to canvas when that happens.

Not so much flaws really. They say there aren't such things as mistakes in art just styles. So I think I just want to make some changes and additions. Maybe some smokey serpents rising out of the braziers. I think I'll change her face. It's too much of a cutesy dolls face! I'll also mess around with the textures and colors a bit too.

The way you've coloured the skin is really good and the green light gives it lovely definition. I like the way that your style has a loose feel about it as well, which shows in some of your other works.

My style is loose because I usually spend only two or three hours on a work. I'm trying hard to spend more time on the work to get past the sketchy look.

It's not a bad thing to have a loose style, it can give your pictures an urgent or more alive quality. It's a lot of work trying to improve your style, it's almost like changing a habit, and I'm trying to get better too so I understand. It's always good to have variety though and I will have to check back with you to see how it's going.

I agree with you there. It isn't bad to have a loose style! I've always admired the dynamic/loose work of frazetta, but wanted to paint like Jacque Louis David! A dynamic yet tightly rendered painting is the rare and beautiful creature I'm seeking!

Hey! Thanks for the feedback! It's at luxor! I really need to make it a bit more arcane and other-worldly I think. I'll have another go at it soon. I have however just painted a similar painting this weekend. Its called Initiate of the Black Lotus. It's inspired by the dark/rich/exotic stories of R.E Howard. Thanks again!
