I really enjoy the idea of combining the world's fastest snake with the world's fastest bird to make Arramon, and it's interesting to know that he and Quetzalcoatl are more like friends, even though Arramon is a servant to him.

Thank you. It just seemed to be the perfect match up to make this character. Yes Arramon is Quetz's fan boy.

This is absolutely incredible! It's lovely, what a great fusion. The head is still a snake but is very bird-like. The colors look great, the feathers are gorgeous...very nice job.
You should totally make an indigo snake X raven coatl. owo That would be the coolest thing ever.

Thank you. I'm very proud of him and that he's a character and not just a one time drawing. I have one other silly drawing with him.
Funny enough I started an indigo x blue jay but it turned out terrible. If I ever get back to making coatls I should do that.

You're welcome! It'd be awesome to see more of him, he's extremely beautiful.
Aah. I bet they'd go well with ravens. They both have that glossy black look...and they're both misunderstood. Most people think of ravens as bad omens, or icky birds who peck people's eyes out and eat corpses. They don't see them as the highly intelligent, socially complex, and beautiful animals that they are. Same with indigos. Most people think snakes are creepy and scary and gross, but they're really quite beautiful and ecologically important; as far as the indigo goes, they're also in need of help if they are to survive. It just strikes me as a good combo. Maybe I could attempt it someday.

I don't have too many stories for him though. He's Quetz's main servant and fan boy is all.
Ravens are much less social than crows. Less loud too. They tend to hang out in pairs as mates unlike crows that are in groups. Ravens are introverts while crows are extroverts. No wonder I prefer ravens.

Aah! Haha, fan boy.
Yep. Although there is still a hierarchy at feeding times, and they can maintain relationships with different humans/ravens, recognize faces, etc...even if they aren't as social, I consider them socially complex. The way they bond with humans is a good example. People who raise ravens (and crows, for that matter) develop strong bonds with them, which is pretty cool. I actually got a book about raven behavior/cognition for Christmas, I'm still working on it. Corvids are my favorite birds next to parrots.
I think that I prefer ravens too, but we don't have any here so I'll settle for crows. Ravens seem more reserved, where crows are just noisy. African white-necked ravens are some of my favorite birds ever, I met a really cool one at Memphis Zoo. And they're so beautiful.

You're preaching to the choir. Almost bought a raven once. Used to own two macaws. Bred birds, worked at a zoo, private aviaries and got my degree in biology.

XD Sorry, I love rambling about birds. Wasn't sure if you were as into corvids.
I would love to own a raven, but I doubt I'll ever be able to. Goodness, you're basically everything I want to be. No identical, but...the basis of working with animals, breeding animals, having an awesome life? I want it.

It's ok. I've been learning about this stuff since I was very young. I watched so many rare documentaries growing up. I do love corvids. You might be surprised at the things I know.
Yes you can have a raven if you really want one. Just might take you a long time. I went to a zoo when I was 11 and saw baby macaws in a nursery. I REALLY wanted one. I asked my mother if I could have one. She said I could have one if I earned the money myself. So I did. All birthday, Christmas, gift money and sometimes even lunch money I saved and saved. When I was 16 I had enough money to buy a macaw and I got my awesome blue and gold Joel. My mother was pissed I had beaten her at her own game and despite her now not wanting me to buy him I did anyway. Was one of my pride an joys I worked so hard to aford him. If you put your mind to it you can do it. You have to have discipline to not spend the money too. Trust me it's soooo tempting. I'm going through this again with the truck. I'm saving and trying to not buy things. It's hard now. There's a certain amount I want to reach by Aug so I can have a nice down payment. I've been wanting a truck since I was old enough to drive. Another stupid thing my mother didn't want me to have. Well enough dreaming time to get one. There's nothing holding me back but me. You're on a great start already. Keep a strong determination and focus on your goal with all your might. Live it every day to reach it. Sometimes you have to wait a few years but never forget, settle or give up. I set huge goals for myself and worry I won't always meet them but I will try.

Aah! I'm 100% sure that you know a whole lot more about birds, and probably animals in general, then I do. But I hope to learn as well!
Yes. I'm always worried that having a time-consuming job will make it irresponsible to have a bird. Did you own parrots when you worked at zoos? I always feel like a raven, African Greys, or a galah (aka my dream birds) would need more attention than I can give them. Budgies I could manage I'm sure, but no cockatoos, Greys, or maybe a raven. But then again I don't know just how much attention a raven needs. It'd be an interesting thing to research.
Haha, I love that she told you that and then you actually did it. Good job!
I've already been saving my money for a few years now so that I'll be able to help pay for/buy cool stuff in Florida (This week! :'D). I did spend some, but I now have about $700 saved up. After that I'll be saving up for SeaWorld camp, so I already have a little taste of saving up. I also plan on starting to keep reptiles this year; I'm going to clean my room this summer and keep it clean, which are my mom's official bearded dragon requirements. I'll probably pay for some of that myself, too.
I can't wait for you to be able to get a truck! Hopefully you can get one this year.
Thank you! I will make sure to stay focused on my goals and push hard for them. This year I plan on volunteering at Wolf Park again, along with my zoo; next year I want to volunteer at Indianapolis Zoo, Wolf Park, AND my local zoo. It'll be hard work but the experience will be well worth it. And of course I'll make sure to do well with school because that will help with college.

Well I'm sure you know way more about whales and orcas than I do. We all have our area of expertise for me it was birds and biology in general. But I am always searching for new interesting things to learn. The more you learn the fewer new things you discover though.
Yes you can have birds and have a job. I worked and went to college at the same time and had my macaws and several small birds. As long as they get out time, play gym, toys and interaction it's fine. They're quite happen when you get home. I had a cockatoo also. A female Elenora though I didn't know she was a girl at first and named her Guile. She did become a screamer though and a feather chewer but was nice otherwise. But cockatoos are more work and not as stable as macaws or budgies. They're very emotional birds and that's not for me. I don't like it in people or birds. I prefer birds that are tougher which is why I like budgies and macaws.
That's a great savings you've got. It will be great when you meet your goal.
I have not driven in like 4 years and it's been very frustrating since as you know I'm a very independent person. But it was also about priorities and the last two years my priorities were travel or I'd probably be done saving by now. This year no expensive cruises so that's what I had to give up and it's been hard. But this trip to Georgia should help me get my travel fix at least. Should be an inexpensive vacation and I get to see new places. But yeah I hope I can get my truck this year. I have also considere waiting til next year for another tax return for an even bigger down payment but I don't know if I can wait that long.
Awesome. I wish you luck with all of that.

Ah, true.
Ooh, good to hear! Sounds like maybe I can have a parrot someday. I really want a galah but I know that cockatoos are needy and need a lot of training, or they can become nightmares. There's a screaming Moluccan at my zoo, and his mood can swing like no other. One minute he's your best friend, the next something spooks him and he's savaging your arm with his beak. But the galahs seem so cool; much calmer, quieter, and more stable. I'll have to look more into them though. Having a macaw would be awesome, although that's a pretty big bird. I'd probably want a blue-and-gold.
Thank you!
Well good luck. I'm sure that Georgia will be very fun, even though it's a smaller trip.
Thanks!

Eugh, yeah I do NOT want a cockatoo like that. Do you know if Galahs are like that? Buddy seems quite stable, and he's nice and quiet. Although he seems a bit possessive. One time he bit me because he thought I was going to take his stick. X3 I promptly turned my back and ignored him for a few seconds so that he knew I didn't like that. Then I turned back around and chirped at him, and he chirped back. I guess all was forgiven then.

I have raised Rosies and found that what you describe to be the case. Very stable for a cockatoo, quiet and reserved bird. So they are pretty and they are nice birds.

Thanks. I really do like his design. I had no idea he'd end up being an INFP but that's what Quetz wanted in a friend. He wanted a fan boy and a Yes Man. He's pretty terrible in a fight and only his venom makes him a challenge. But yes he'd rather run away than fight.
