Description
Pomona is the Roman Goddess of fruit trees and orchards; Her name is derived from the Latin pomum, meaning fruit. She is believed to protect and bless orchards and fruit trees.

Pomona was so busy with Her work caring for Her orchard that She refused suitor after suitor, including both Silenus and Priapus (yikes). But She was eventually won over by the God Vertumnus, a fellow Deity of gardens and orchards, and one imagines, a kindred spirit. He finally appeared to Her in His own true, beautiful form, and They were married, living fruitfully ever after.
