Description
The Norse Goddess Syn is considered one of Frigga's twelve handmaidens; She guards the door to Frigga's hall and determines who is allowed to enter. If She refuses entry, there is no way to change Her mind.This piece is done in inks, and is inspired by linoleum block prints, with their layers of flat shapes overlaid upon each other. I only used five (translucent) colors: the pale peachy tone of Her skin, the light brown of Her shirt and the door, the medium brown of Her hair and the grain on the door, red, and a dark indigo blue.

I particularly the way you've woven Norse knot-work into the hairdo of this particular demigoddess - one must say that I cannot imagine getting past this young doorkeeper unless she has orders to allow passage, not least because she looks lovely enough to hypnotise any would-be gatecrashers with charm! (as one who has manned a checkpoint myself, please allow me to assure you this tactic can be surprisingly useful when one wants to avoid both trouble and lapses in security).

I thought about Gefjon and Saga, but I remember Saga was Odin's drinking buddy, so I excluded her.
