Description Okay, so y'all have probably checked out the WIPs of this one and they've been met with pretty great feedback, so, withour further ado I gave you the finished version! Since I started this two years ago, I am more than ecstatic to have the damn thing done and I can only hope y'all like it as well. Feedback welcome and encouraged

EDIT: Since so many people ask, I did this completely with ballpoint pens - nothing special, just something like this: [link] Simple, $1 pen. No fancy-schmancy things like $70 ballpoint pens with disco lights installed on it. Since there was so much ink that I had to use and I lost pens and re-found them throughout the course of 2 years, I went through atleast a dozen pens throughout the process of finishing this. There are also a few different brands used on this, which is why you might notice different colored ink on certain parts (Particularly on the far left, which has a slight reddish-brown tint to it).

The only tips I can really give are these:

1. I know it's incredibly cliche, but practice. Work on different techniques, different subjects, and find something you enjoy and get better at it.

2. I like to think of a drawing as a puzzle - each small piece is important in making the big picture. Work on getting each section done in detail until you're finished. I actually received a great hint from an art teacher of mine who does a lot of animal drawings - work on the parts that you like the least first (fur on the neck, for example) and finish the parts that you like the most last (the eyes, for example). This makes it to where you don't get bored with a drawing at the end.

How dare you neglect the magnitude of power collected by disco-ball pens. If this were Korea you'd be in an upside down jail full of treason and pop tarts with no frosting.

GOD DAMN girl.
you got to be kidding me, pens. Shit. i am obviously missing some thing with my god damn 0.5 pencils and charcoal. If there was ever a Daily Deviation that should have been this was it. I think you missed the chance to really bring the prey's eyes into the focus though - a solid black orb missed the mark for me. but the curve is obviously there on the eye - i don't think those gazelle creatures are that furry though. You made it look a little extra fluffy.


Honestly though you can't nit pick here with out really getting gay about it - When i got some spare money i might have to buy a sketch book off you.

Yeah, the trick = big canvas. That gives alot of room for attention to detail. Yeah, I honestly want a DD for it, but that sounds a bit vain. Concerning the eye, I believe the nictitating membrane is covering it - I drew it from a picture and the eye was all black like that, though I'm not sure why. And yeah I agree, the gazelle's hairs are way too long. I made the mistake of drawing the gazelle last, so I was so aggrivated with getting the drawing done that I basically scribbled the fur of the gazelle on.
