Description

Continuing with the trend of updating old freight car sprites, here is the next freight car and one of many more to come in the future.

The USRA 55T Hopper was designed in 1936 (and remained in production until 1940 prior to WWII) and intended to replace the older turn-of-the-century hoppers. Other variations of this hopper also existed, such as Canton Car Co. as well as modified designs by home railroads like the panel-side hopper and the wood composite. The basis design went on to be utilized by many railroads across the US and remained well into the late 1950's/early 1960's before finally being phased out by bigger and more practical hopper car designs. Today, some still exist in museums and are frequently put into use on photo-charter freight trains.

Shown above is are four hopper in a blank and pre-colored black paint scheme in four variations; partially ribbed, fully ribbed, wood composite and panel-side.  The reason that there are two variants is because one is facing the opposite way.  Also shown below are a coal load two optional re-colored wheel sprites, in case the all-black wheels dont appeal to your taste. The two other colors are Dark Grey and Silver.

UPDATE 1, 9/7/18: Fixed a minor issue with the optional colored trucks.

UPDATE 2, 10/17/18: Fixed an issue with the placement of the details on the colored trucks.

UPDATE 3, 11/10/19: Added a brand new variation; Ribbed sides.

UPDATE 4, 11/11/19: Added a brand new variation; Wood Composite as well as added an optional coal load.

UPDATE 5, 11/13/19: Added a fourth variation; Panel Side (One more planned) as well as re-arranged the layout of the hoppers.
