Personality:
Pious / Willful / Benevolent / Unyielding
Gwyn takes his goals very seriously.  His beliefs guide many of the decisions in his life.  Since he is a cleric for a small religious group dictated to the God of the Undead, Giellver, he tries to spread the teachings of his faction.  He believes those that have died and are ‘reborn’ as ghost types as admirable and exalted people.  He often treats ghost types with more respect than usual and is often more willing to talk and help them.  One day he hopes to die with dignity serving his god and become a ghost himself.  While he revers death he find that the journey in life will only tell if you deserving of an afterlife or not, taught that the only life after death is to carry out eternity as a ghost.  This makes him protective the young, feeling like they need time to grow and experience the world to find out if they are worthy of an afterlife.

While he respects others beliefs and the other gods he is unwilling to forgo what he believes.  If someone doesn’t die through any means he feels like it isn’t their time, they still have to carry out their journey.  Those that do die and do not return as ghosts are unworthy of an afterlife.  If Gwyn is asked why he will say it wasn’t his decision to make and he doesn’t question the command of his god.

When out on his own journeys he makes the effort to visit places known for battles and ghosts.  He will spend his time there praying and paying respects to the fallen. Malevolent spirits that approach him are even treated with courteously but if he is attacked he feels like they are non-believers and don’t respect the afterlives they were given.  This is the only time he goes out of his way to hurt the undead, putting them to a ‘final rest’ since they are unworthy.

History:
Gwyn was born in Ormona 25 years ago to a loving family of two.  His mother was a Rock/Steel Aegislash Knight, Alis and his father an Electric/Ice Bronzong Bard, Glynn.  He was meant to be part of a set of twins but his brother didn’t make it past a week because of a birth defect they both shared, cleft palates and lips.  His brother’s case was worse off than him where it affected his ability to nurse.  Growing up this condition was a factor throughout Gwyn’s life, since an early age he covered his lower face, in the beginning out of his parents’ fears for strangers bearing down on him and later in life out of comfort and privacy.

The young Honedge grew up mostly under his father’s care, his mother often busy with her duties as a knight for Ormona.  Gwyn was told stories and travels of his father, being told of all the wonderful places that the Bronzong had gone before meeting Alis.  With these stories as fuel for his young imagination, the boy wanted to become like his father and travel all around the islands one day.

As Gwyn grew older his ambitions started to change, once he learned how to read books started to replace his father’s stories.  Knowledge became a need for the part psychic type, it was clear even though he was his mother’s child he wasn’t going to follow directly in her footsteps.  That was not to say he didn’t enjoy fighting, with his mother’s guidance most of his moves and skills came from her, fighting with wild abandon at times.

At the age of 17 his life changed, while out on an excursion his mother met her end at the hands of a Ground/Fighting Gyarados.  When the news came back to him and his father, the boy’s world came crashing down around him.  It was only months later after meeting a follower of the Undead God, did clarity start to come to his life.  Gwyn found purpose after meeting this stranger and started to attend gatherings at the local division of the faith.

After a few years and evolving into a Doublade, Gwyn started to set out on his own.  His father’s old stories still fresh in his mind and his own goals he wanted to attain.  He wanted to set out to the lands where great battles raged to pay his respects to the dead and undead.  He also wanted to find where his mother rested and see if she had died to be worthy enough to become a ghost.

Familiar's Name: Eira

Familiar's Personality:
Loyal / Underhanded / Lazy / Friendly
Eira is an odd sort, after evolving from a Honedge it is like two personalities are trying to co-exist as one.  Sometimes Eira doesn’t agree with himself, and can be indecisive. Though, when both parts come into agreeing it’s hard to get him to change his mind.  He is often with Gwyn even though he hates traveling and rather be in one place, feeling the most comfortable sitting somewhere with a book or two, he has a knack for reading both at the same time. When he absolutely wants something he can be cheeky about it and even lie.  Deep down, however, he really wants the best for Gwyn and will never leave his side even if at times he doesn’t agree with what his charge’s aspirations.  In the end he will always support Gwyn and fight by his side.

Notes / Extra / Etc:
Even though he is a cleric, he is battle inclined and his moves reflect it, he is more of a zealot than a healer or an assist.

Gwyn talks with a slight lisp, he tries pronouncing his words carefully to avoid it, but when he is upset or drunk it comes out in full force.

Gwyn wears something around his face usually, if it’s not his face guard then a turtleneck pulled up or a handkerchief, he is self-conscious about his mouth’s deformity.

Eating in public is something Gwyn tries to avoid, anything that makes him remove what is cover his mouth is uncomfortable with him.  If actually removes it in front of people it’s a sign of trust, he knows that those around him won’t judge.

Despite his religion and being a Cleric, Gwyn is open to relationships.  There must be a full life in order to have good death.  Though, he is a bit awkward due to inexperience.

The staff that Gwyn has is shaped like a scythe because of it being a symbol associated with the reaper and death.

Since he is ice typed, along with his familiar, Gwyn tries to keep to colder climates or covers himself in frost to keep himself cool.  It was a trick he actually learned from Eira and even taught his father how to do it.

Gwyn is fond of rich flavors; like cheese, mushrooms, nuts, and meat.

Eira’s voice sounds like two people talking at once.  One voice sounds more sincere and caring, while the other is manic and sarcastic.

Eira has a hard time remembering what it was like as a Honedge and have only one ‘personality’ he has gotten used to having double thoughts and sometimes it scares him to know what he’ll be like after he evolves with Gwyn.
