Description
This was supposed to be a tattoo design, but it turned out a bit too detailed... I think? I've never done a real tattoo, so I don't know how small the details can be.I hope you like it.
Mechanical pencil, black marker.
Do not use without my permission. This goes for ALL my other tattoos too. If you wanna use them, just ask. It's not that hard.

Well to start with you have come out with a very good concept here, the mermaid tattoo has a large basis in the seafaring traditions, and many vintage tattoo works feature them, and you have given a very good twist on the origional concept by adding a modern style design, the use of swirls in the piece also has a polynesian type feel, which also makes it more femenine, it certainly appeals to me e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
the actual character herself is very well drawn, the pose is sensual and exudes feminity, although if your looking into the tattoo medium it is a little detailed, however an experienced tattooist shouldn't have too much trouble pulling it off. I like the overall impact of the character, the only shortfall really being in the eyes, a little mangaish for my tastes, but this may appeal to others this is just my personal opinion.
Your technique in this is also very good, you have obviously spent a lot of time on the shading, particuarly on her scales which have also taken some skill to get correct, as they are all in proportion and follow the shape of the character (i struggle with this on my kois e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="
The piece has a good impact overall, the dark shades your using give the piece a sense of drama, seductiveness and mystery which immediately drew my eye to it, and would also say this about the person wearing the tattoo e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
In conclusion you have a well thought out design here, a little simplifying here and there, and some work on the facial features and you will have someone a very nice tattoo. Well done.

yeah it is a bit too detailed, especially if the tattooist is just a beginner. I originally wanted it to be only slightly detailed, but I'm used to doing detailed drawings so suddenly I just noticed how detailed it was.
I'm kinda new with drawing "normal" tattoos, and I've never been good at drawing humans, so I'm still kinda trying to find my own style. that's why the eye is so mangaish. I'm trying to find a shape and style that goes well with my designs and is not too detailed so it's easy to tattoo. so if you could, I don't know, maybe link some tattoo designs with eyes that are not too manga-like, so I could get the basic idea of what would go well with this tattoo..?

your welcome, its my first critique, so i'm glad of the feedback
i get a bit carried away when drawing tattoo designs as well. my sealife montage was origionally going to be a tattoo, but i went rather OTT, lol
the trick is drawing quickly often, and it becomes easier its a lot harder making a tricky design simple than the other way round. The designs certainly got a lot of potential though

Kaunis! Tykkään tosi paljon siitä, miten tämä kuva virtaa, siis miten kaikki eri osaset näyttää olevan liikkeessä, esim. noi vesikiekurat, pikkukalat, hiukset...
Yksityiskohdat on ihanat, erityisesti kaikki suomut. Enpä osaa minäkään sanoa, onko tässä liikaa yksityiskohtia tatuoinniksi, mutta ainakin näin kuvana ei ole yhtään liikaa! Ja veikkaanpa, että ainakin LA Inkin tytöt osais tatuoida näin yksityiskohtaistakin.
