Description This is a collection of various shots of my Philomena Phoenix plush. She can be changed to a pile of ashes and "reborn." She is super cuddly and flexible, no wires to poke; wings maintain their shape with a thin foam core. I scaled her to fit with my Celestia per the show specs...and she's a pretty large bird, almost the size or larger of a regular pony!

Pattern is my own, but Hasbro & Ms. Faust own MLP: FIM.

Do you sell this item or the pattern to make her? Beautiful work!

Thank you! Philomena could be commissioned as this one is sold (pattern is not for sale), but I do not know when slots will be open, as I am currently in college. I'll post a journal when I can take them again.

OMG that is amazing! Tho, do I notice a bit of a fraying problem on the sheer fabric? Might wanna take a lighter and singe those edges? But srsly this is too Epic! Bravo, excellent work!

Thank you very much! Yeah, it's fraying. I don't hem so well yet, so I sewed a seam around the edges of a single layer of organza to hold it in check without losing the points on the end of the tail. I haven't tried a lighter yet, but I do have a heat knife. Will that work better? I don't REALLY want to set my Phoenix on fire, although the irony would be awesome.

Hmm I don't know. I've never used or even seen a heat knife. With a lighter you just have to gently and quickly brush the edge of the fabric past the flame. If you have spare organza I would practice a bit before attempting it on the plushie. It'll make the organza dark and plastic looking but it'll stop the fraying. Or if you're not keen on the darker edge to the fabric that the lighter will make it there is another method to try. It is a liquid called Fray Check by Dritz. It dries clear and will stop fraying but wont last forever unfortunately.

Thank you for the advice! The heat knife is just a soldering iron set w/different bits (one of which is a knife). I used to solder a lot, I've just never used an iron on fabric before. I have a lot of scraps (I hate to throw them away, you never know when they'll come in useful), so I will try both methods. I'm definitely looking for something long-lasting, that way it doesn't unravel on any potential future commissions. I'll let you know what the knife edge does (make it dark and plastic or just seal the edge) compared to the flame. Or I'll just post a picture of the merrily burning pile of debris in my work area. Hehe. Thanks again for the help!

LoL no prob. That heat knife sounds cool. And I never throw away my scraps either :3 The small scraps I use as cozy bedding for my rats in the winter
