The problem for the show was once they were gone, nothing else seemed to measure up to them, even the alleged threats that were meant to be 'superior' to the Shadows seemed unconvincing and nowhere near as impressive.

One thing that's awesome about the Shadows, for me anyway, is that even after they're physically out of the story, their influence and role IN the story remains strong. They've been around since the dawn of life itself and established tyrannies all over the galaxy; just cuz they're not there doesn't mean their influence has left.
*still needs to work on that Star Trek TNG x Babylon 5 x Doctor Who story* Cuz let's face it, everyone wants to see the Doctor vs Bester and Lyta vs Q. XD

how acurate is this I mean I only saw bits and pieces of the shadows and who were the ones they were at war with those howevering dudes

This my friend is as accurate as it gets! I used so many screen grabs as well as the unaltered views of the shadows from the Babylon card game in which there are no atmospherics and the lighting if full on. It's a great shot if you can find it they even made it the cover for one of the booster packs to the same card game with Mr. Morden in the middle of the 2 shadows.
They were at war with the Vorlons of which I also have the only one of a kind piece of art for.

Yikes. The Shadows are creepy as hell! No wonder they send out human agents to do their bidding and cloak themselves when other races are around. If anyone even looked at one of them, they'd freak out and run off or get a shotgun and blast them!
Not only that but their demeanor is matched only by how hateful their social darwinist views are. While it CAN be applied to certain things, applying it in the extreme way that they want disgusts me to the core.
I don't think that the Vorlons needed to tamper too much with the younger races' genes to get them to by repulsed by the Shadows.....
