Commander: We've confiscated the fake encounter suit. It's a pretty close match to your own, at least from the outside.Vorlon: Why?
Commander: Deuce wanted to make people think he had the Vorlons working for him. He figured it would add to his image and intimidate people.
Vorlon: Why?
Commander: Well, after all, no one knows exactly what you look like. That makes some people a little nervous.
Vorlon: Good.

Lovely. Vorlons can be so cute when they're angry. I think they are highly evolved insects, that the Vorlons and the Shadows like wasps and ants that got to evolve way beyond anything we look like doing. They seem like they've ascended, but not departed.

Looks so mean. Love the colour scheme looks like a kind of 'dark vorlon clan' (know they don't exist).
Is that spirit an interpretation how a vorlon truely looks? We know that every race recognises a vorlon as one of their kind, plus inner shining, wings and pure skin.
Is there a a colour scheme for a vorlon ship somewhere!? Would look fascinating too, I'm sure!

First thank you for the post. This Vorlon is based on a primordial and original sect of Vorlons as described in the B5 source manual Darkness and Light. The spirit or essence of the Vorlon is not my interpretation but is in fact designed specifically on the one episode in which we see Kosh and Kesh fought it out. As to the ship I hadn't thought about that hmmmm.

last christmas i was blessed to receive all 5 season and the movies on DVD. i think my favorite Kosh moment had to be when Sheridan confronted him about the Vorlons staying out of the Shadow war. Yeah... a pissed of Kosh is a really scary thing. especially when he decides to do that whole Darth-Vader-long-ranged-choking-you-to-death thing

Man I need to go back and watch B5 again. I grew up watching it and Star Trek Voyager... I always felt B5 had way more going for it as it was such a deeper more thought provoking series...

Having checked out some screencaps from the episode in question I'm inclined to agree. One thing I always found interesting about that scene, and that your image captures quite well, is that the tentacled silhouette of the Vorlon is *vaguely* reminiscent of the spidery Shadows. I thought it was a deliberate attempt to show them as being somewhat similar - in the same way that Centauri, Minbari, Narn and other young races are all similar in form to humans.

Interesting take on the Vorlons' true appearance. I always found that glimpse we had of Ulkesh in "Falling Towards Apotheosis" to be vague and unsatisfying in comparison. Like the encounter suit design too.
