Description I will never forget the moment your stopped, and mine kept beating...

Black ink, watercolour, watercolour pencils, white gel pen and pigment liner, on canson watercolour paper.

I used stock photo:Β tasastock.deviantart.com/art/G… Thank you!

P.S.

Now, I need to clear things up... I noticed that someone has added the illustration to their favourites - in a LotR folder. But this is my own imagination, it doesn't belong to Tolkien.

So sad, the dark haired gentleman must have been thinking that in his last moments, he found peace as he comforted the white haired lass to not shed tears for his passing.

I am curious what is the story behind this scene.

I had a picture in my mind and I illustrated it, though I am not sure what the story is about... but maybe this dead guy was the white haired woman's lover. Her husband, whom she did not truly love, found out about their relationship and rode to the outskirts of the forest, where his rival lived, and finished him off. Very dramatic, for sure! ^^

It's so heartbreaking I love her look - especially like she's crying - and the background is just splendid!

I love the dramatic scene here, with the beautiful use of dark colours and the splotch of red on the man's arm. The look on the girl's face is truly painful and you've captured their humanity so well. Truly a time of mourning.Β
