Description
Making the tough decision between actually acting like a parent towards your own clone, or risk damaging your evil and rotten reputation by doing so. Being Eggman must be sooo tough...A two page comic drawn by *Cloud-Kitsune that I went and colored. I combined into one strip, obviously. Based on AU Sonic stuff and stuff.

Cloning and alternate universes.

3 questions: Who, how and when?

He didn't get with anyone... thank god. He turned to cloning himself, avoiding all of that pesky and troublesome women and relationship stuff.
So to answer those three questions: A petri dish and a sample of his DNA and an egg cell, energy from a Chaos Emerald to fuse the two together, and when he realized he needed an heir knowing that he was growing older.

The only reasons someone would clone him is to kill him! or make an army of him

Why would Eggman go through the trouble of cloning himself to just kill it in the end?(which by the way, cloning a human is not an easy task, even in real-life if we to actually try it) That would just be a waste of resources and time, then. :/

And this is the sonic universe you can clone alien, rodent, cyborgs.
And if it did work on real life logic; there would be a chance most of the clones would have failed or have been retarded.
My main point is that I don't think eggman is a very good farther.
I say that because in the comic he killed or got his robotic child killed during a war. He has no respect for his other relatives (Thecolonel ) and is constantly trying to kill a blue hedgehog.Β
That and he's just a dick to everyone else. He shows humanity once and a while but only when he's vulnerable.
And the only way for that to happen is for him to have a real biological son.

I do have perspective, i just can't believe at a the good doctor would clone a son for the sake of loneliness. Unless he was dying. or reformed. In which he is neither.
Though i can believe he would do it for fun, then get attached.

I'm very aware of how much of a dick he is in the comics and in allot of other canons. But keep in mind that Eggman has been portrayed in allot of different ways throughout the many different media in the franchise, with the severity of how evil he is varying: to a bloodthirsty tyrant bent on robotizing every living thing in sight in SatAM, a goofy buffoon who likes to shake his butt to the camera and roll his R's in AoSTH(and has also been shown to have a more affectionate side, such as when he made a robotic son in one episode), a complete psychopath in the UK Sonic comic series, or someone bent on world domination but shown to be more empathetic at times then one would be led to believe like in Sonic X. This AU is no exception; this version of Eggman of mine is portrayed differently from the other incarnations of him. Allot of it being a mix of the game and Sonic X canon of him, in terms of personality.
I was definitely aware of the very high mortality rate and high risk of complications and defects that would result if a human were to ever be cloned in real life. I made sure to do allot of research on the subject of cloning in general, to animals that have been cloned in the past, to the speculations and predictions made by scientists on the possibility of cloning humans and the risks involved. I know the Sonic universe in general doesn't have the most realistic rules, but I always want to make to do research on a subject, so I can know how to break the rules better if the need to take some creative liberates was had to be done.(which I had to do for this AU. And even then, I did actually give Eggman's clone various health problems that was the result from it.)
I actually did decide to play with the concept of Eggman being a "good father" for my AU, too. I would write it down and explain it, but this comment is already long enough as it is.

Why it is Metal Sonic. :3 I couldn't think of what to put on the screen at first, and then I thought some robot would be a good idea. But I had a hard time thinking up a generic silhouette, and then I remembered Metal Sonic.
