Description Yamask
Each of them carries a mask that used to be its face when it was human. Sometimes they look at it and cry.

---

So...Yamask... Used to be human. Now a Pokémon.

Sounds...kinda familiar, don't it?

Figured I'd put my personal Mystery Dungeon avatar (which, as you should know, was also human before the start of those games) up with a Yamask, feeling total sympathy and understanding...for he can very much relate to that.

Only difference really... Our PMD protagonist didn't die! The Yamask are made of the deceased humans if the game's Pokédex can be trusted (the anime, as far as I can tell, doesn't mention the human part at all).

They also retain the memories of their past life, another difference as our hero on the left suffers from amnesia. So I can imagine a slight bit of envy going through his head. But honestly, maybe actually remember who you once were and knowing you can't change your fate arguably makes Yamask's situation far worse than the PMD main character (who, at least, can find happiness with his/her new friends).

Nevertheless, I thought this would make for an interesting situation (and, if CHUNSOFT is up for another PMD, then I hope this actually becomes a plot point) so decided to draw it up. Helps to reflect that, despite what B found in his new life, he most definitely still misses being a human, as the Yamask reminds him. He also takes pity on the poor Pokémon next to him, knowing full well what it is like.

I like how the characters came out. For a first time drawing a Yamask, it isn't too shabby, really.

Lazy background is lazy. Didn't feel like wasting time on that.

I like ghost type cause they have the most interesting and scariness pokedex entries.

Yamask does have a tragic background to it compared to some of the other ghosts which seem to share a rather unsettling and disturbing nature behind them! >_> Like Banette!

Those Pokémon backgrounds get rather confusing sometimes. Especially with the ghost types--like in Lavender Town when they'd say the souls of departed Pokémon rested and wandered there, yet they're Ghastly and such. So which is it: Are Ghastly really the ghosts of such Pokémon, or are they entirely separate entities? Does this mean all people turn to Yamask when they pass away? Really confounds me.

Still, this is pretty interesting needless to say. I like the heartfelt nature behind it--you were always great at achieving that kind of feeling. Nice going B.

Keep it up dude.

Oh Yamask...

...Erm...

...I'd hug him, but I don't want my ability to get mummified.

The truth is I wouldn't mind being a Yamask when I die as long as I know that I'll one day evolve into a Cofagrigus since they are my fave ghost type now.
