Description I decided to start focusing more on landscapes than portraits (because I can't draw people! ), and this is IMO one of my best works yet. In fact, this is my first drawing that doesn't look hideously ugly. (Except for the digicam picture --this was actually drawn on a white paper, but it looks dark grey. The original is not as dull as this.)
Anyway, hope you like it. Drawn on an A4 copy paper with a single HB 0.7 technical pencil (because my own drawing equipment are located in my apartment 300 km away at the moment). I tried some new shading techniques on the rocks and the trees. Picture taken with an Olympus Digital 4,0 megapixel camera. (which hates me and makes all my drawings look completely grey in any lighting! )

This is one my favorite pieces you have in your gallery. One of the harder challenges is to create 3D space on paper, and this is a great success in doing this correctly. The whole landscape works together, and everything looks like you spent an equal amount of time on it without getting bored and scribbling the rest. Your use of crosshatching reinforces the direction of the objects (such as the crusshatching in the trees and rocks being more up-down, whereas your forest floor crosshatching is side-side).
Bravo!
If I were to criticize it, I would say the small tree resting on the rocks on the right doesn't look quite right, and isn't needed, as it clutters the scene a little, and perhaps a stronger light source would enhance the image, but these are very light criticisims.

Thank you very much for the comment! I appreciate comments that are given with thought, and not just " 'tis nice omg!"

I agree with you on the little tree not fitting, it was the spot that I failed the most in what I tried to achieve... The picture is grey because of the scanning process (and me not being able to edit it properly afterwards. ) In reality it's much lighter...

*chokes* You say you fail to draw like me?? I'm so flattered, because I envy your superior skill in anime... (and drawing in general...) Thank you so much.

Goodness, but this is gorgeous. You really do seem to have a way with landscapes. The trees all turned out wonderfully, and it's so detailed! Wonderfully done

I agree with your description, this is one of your better works...I really like the details on the trees, the branches, and how the rocks actually look like rocks

Thank you very much for the comment! ^_^ The details are more visible in the original drawing, this digicam version looks like crap to me...
