This is a luna moth I found today. His wings are kind of damaged at the back. I have named him Wilfred.Related content

Beautiful, though a little sad as well. You saw this moth in what were his last hours of life. You can tell this by the bleaching of his thorax and abdomen. When they die, they bleach completely white, becoming even more striking. Still a beautiful specimen.

Damage and all, a beauty. Actually, I kinda like the way his wings are torn like that. Kinda draconian. Very cool and very elegant at the same time. Like the battle scarred warrior king. Makes him seem dignified. I love luna moths....
