Jason Tennant was raised by the circus. An orphan, Jason looked up to the clowns and trapeze artists. And he soon joined their ranks. Juggling, tumbling, pratfalls and tightropes, he was born to perform. Nothing made him happier than seeing folks gaze in awe or burst out laughing. That was back when he was too young to know the owner was crooked. That the whole set-up was a front. When the circus was raided and the adults arrested, Jason was put into foster care. He found a new home in the living arms of a family of physicists. Always being inspired by those he admired, Jason grew up to be a physicist himself. A child psychologist in fact; helping young people who, like him, hadn’t had the easiest start in life. But when his patients started to go missing, Jason called upon an old friend. Frank Delaware had once been known as Bonzo the clown. He was Jason favourite performer and circus mentor. The only adult member of the troupe who hadn’t been a crook, Frank was heartbroken when he was arrested and the circus was shut down. When he was released years later, he retired from the performer’s life and became an electrician. But he stayed in touch with Jason, the only person who visited him inside. Frank was also a genius escapologist and amateur sleuth. Using his insight, and his old clown costume, Jason tracked down the gang who’d been kidnapping kids across Cedar - known other than the circus gang he’d once belonged to. Unleashing the showman within, Jason sprang into action. Flipping and kicking and laughing with glee, he never stopped. He went on to be a respected psychiatrist and gonzo, giggling crimefighter by night.
