Description A close up of an American Alligator at the North Carolina zoo. I would like to thank the Canon Powershot SX50 for making this possible!

Did you know that North American Wading birds appear to have a symbiotic relationship with the American Alligator? The gators provide protection for the birds' nests and in return get to eat the food that falls from the nest sites. It has also been noted that large numbers of wading birds have established nests at places such as St. Augustine's Alligator farm and other similiar sites.

Agreed! Few people see these creatures as beautiful, but I think they're fascinating and awesome.
