Description I am currently accepting commissions, please read my journal for more info.

Sold to (model "00"); (model "01"); (model "02").

------

Prototype made with plasticine, this is the nĀ°02 piece of around 100, maybe less. Final models made in resin, painted with acrylics and a gloss final varnish.

Please notice that there could be really little differences between each model, but that's normal since these figures are completely hand made. Furthermore, said little differences increase the value of each single figure, which can be considered "ones of a kind" even if they come from a series.

I'll sign each model under a foot of Samus and under the base (they are separated for shipping reason, but you can easily put them together without the need of glue).

Base area: about 20x9 cm.
Height (base included): around 14 cm.
Weight: around 200 gr.

Details: the helmet visor is clear and you can slightly see Samus's face through it (it isn't a mirage, the face is modelled too ).

Of course, let me know if you decide to buy one, maybe I can ship it in the same package of Lisa sculpture. I'm waiting for a new Metroid by Retro Studios on Wii U. I hope it will be showed at this E3.

How much would one cost? If I can afford it, I'd definitely take you up on that offer. 8D
I've been thinking of getting Metroid: Other M, but I've heard its really not that good. 8I

Whats the new one coming out?

The-Replicant In reply to kitsunelegend [2013-03-22 13:45:44 +0000 UTC]

It costs 70 euro, shipping excluded as listed in my journal [link] . But I can try to make it fit in the same package of Lisa. About Metroid Other M, the game is not so good, or at least very far from the Prime series. I just really loved the intro and Samus model.
It's still unknown what Retro Studios is doing at the moment, but I really hope they're working on a new Metroid Prime for Wii U. ^_^

kitsunelegend In reply to The-Replicant [2013-03-25 14:34:32 +0000 UTC]

So that would come out to about.....$90 USD right? Roughly anyway. I'd probably have to save up a little more to get that as well. To be honest, I actually thought it would have been a little than that.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a pretty good game too. Difficult and aggrivating, but pretty fun. What was Other M about? What was so bad about it? I kinda wish they'd redo one of the Prime games. Like better graphics and such.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

The-Replicant In reply to kitsunelegend [2013-03-28 14:28:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it should be around 90USD with the actual change. About the figure cost, it requires a lot of time to make it and I'm still doing a good price, believe me. But don't worry, if you ever decide to buy one, just let me know whenever you want. This time is only an occasion to save on shipping costs, but only if it fits in the same package of Lisa.

About Other M, the game is a lit too arcade for my tastes. There's not enough exploration. Let's see what Nintendo has in store for the next Metroid. ^_^

kitsunelegend In reply to The-Replicant [2013-03-30 15:05:26 +0000 UTC]

Well, I know I wont be able to afford it in time to ship it with the Lisa sculpture. But I'll definutlly put it on my "want" list. Its an amazing model, especially with the see thro visor. THAT was a very nice touch.

Maybe I'll look up some play thros on youtube to get an idea. Arcade doesn't sound so bad, but then again...
It would be great if they could re-release the prime series, but with updated graphics. Sort of like the creators of HALO did for HALO 1.

unconventionalsenshi [2011-08-03 20:42:34 +0000 UTC]

shit, that's great!!! SO you made the prototype with plasticine? wow? but wasn't that a bit unstable of material to create a mold off it ? when experimenting with sillicone/rubber mold-making, I try to keep them in as warmer place as possible for curing, they tend to harden faster. I remember plasticine dissolved completely once, when it was sunny outside U_U

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

The-Replicant In reply to unconventionalsenshi [2011-08-04 08:16:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I did it with plasticine. It was like walking constantly on a rope. ^^'
It was really unstable. You can't touch the model with hands because of the warmth that softens so much the plasticine. I worked on that model with a lot of patience.

You shouldn't expose your silicone rubber to sun. >_>' It needs his time for curing or you will incur in dangerous air bubbles.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

unconventionalsenshi In reply to The-Replicant [2011-08-04 20:12:06 +0000 UTC]

U___U oops. Luckily the sillicone cured well *_* it was hot in the house too I just placed it near the balcony

Anyway, you're really, really cool for using plasticine *_*

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

The-Replicant In reply to unconventionalsenshi [2011-08-05 12:22:52 +0000 UTC]

Wow, thank you for the compliment.

Well, I'm not using plasticine for such models anymore. It's too difficult to handle though you can achieve great details with it. I just wanted to try it for a small figure.

About silicone, the important thing is always wait and let air bubbles come out before pouring it on the model.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

unconventionalsenshi In reply to The-Replicant [2011-08-06 12:04:44 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, I've noticed that too ) Same with Resin ^__^ I let it sit for 1-2 minutes until the bubbles escape and then pour. And then blow or pop the left or newly-formed bubbles with a stick

i wouldn't mind getting one of these, if it wasn't so expensive!

it's so amazing yet beautiful too.

great effort!

Thank you very much

Expensive? Maybe you never asked for a "painted" resin model or any other craft here on DA or any other site/artist. It needs time to work on a piece like this one and I'm at the minimum asking price, probably too much below cost. You should remember that I'm not a machine who prints things. ^^'

Thanks for your compliment.

mswliu81 In reply to The-Replicant [2011-03-15 03:32:39 +0000 UTC]

sorry, i didn't mean it that way. perhaps i should've not said that bit about it being expensive.

given as it's so well polished, it's worth whatever value you put on it.

I'm surprised you have more up for sale. I saw your works a while ago, and it is indeed impressive, but I thought you sold out long ago.

I'm extremely tempted to buy, but bidding...? Yeeaahhhh, no thanks. I've had really bad experiences with bidding.

Awesome scuplting though. If you wouldn't mind, I just wanted to nitpick a little that the arm cannon is a little too short and the gloss coat looks a bit messy.

...but that's just some minor nitpicking. I'd say this is first-rate work! Are you planning on making some other Metroid statues any time soon?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

The-Replicant In reply to xxLelouchxx67 [2011-03-13 10:57:51 +0000 UTC]

Well, this is the number "02". About bidding, I don't see any problem, you just need to know how much you want to bid for this piece.

About the arm cannon, it fits her arm like it could be inserted ^^ The arm cannon itself of Metroid Other M looks shorter for the different design in comparison of other Metroid titles. Check the official artworks

The gloss final varnish? I like it, you don't? Owww, too bad ^^

Well, I need to conclude my ongoing project first, it should be complete for the next month. Of course I'm still interested about Metroid, any idea?

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate your interest and of course nitpick for improvement. I'm not perfect and there's still a lot of room to improve myself. ^_^
