Chapter 7, Part 1: Apollo's Downfall

Trevor groaned, starting to wake up. He saw his mask cracked, seeing they were at the bottom of a chasm with a waterfall. Then he saw his leg was injured. James started to awaken, looking in a panic and seeing his left arm was trapped under a chunk of the bridge. "Trevor!" he shouted, struck in worry since his mask was barely together. "I'm coming, brother!" Trevor shouted back, but he heard something standing from the water. It was Apollo! The vengeful mechanist grabbed Trevor by the back, slamming him against the wall and throwing him aside.

"Do you know who I am?! I am the strongest man in the world! I will be one of the rulers of the kingdom!" Apollo shouted in full rage as he punched Trevor in the head, knocking his mask to pieces. As James watched Apollo whale on his brother, he looked at his dagger on his side. He nodded, knowing he had no other option.

Apollo was laughing as he was beating Trevor to death. The former harlequin laid on the ground, coughing up blood. "The poor doctor… so you were the harlequin duo? I don't believe it. You can't even kill a frog!" Apollo laughed, but suddenly he felt a sharp pain in the back of his left leg, and promptly let out a scream of pain. James had stabbed him in his leg. Trevor got up quickly and stabbed Apollo in the throat, sliding his dagger to the right and slitting his throat clean open. The mechanist fell to the ground, bleeding to death.

Trevor was sitting on the ground in front of his corpse panting. James came over and helped him up. "Thank you, James. How did you… Oh my Lord!" Trevor saw James' left arm was cut off and poorly bandaged. "One limb is worth vengeance on this waste of human life, and to save my brother," James chuckled. Trevor looked in shock, but then chuckled alongside his brother. "Come on, we have to get back to Simon," Trevor said. James nodded following him.

Simon had entered the king's throne room seeing, Ares there waiting for him. "So you're the one who killed all my men," Ares claimed, chuckling while sitting on the throne. "You act as if you had an army when really you had nothing but four really tough, but pitiful wimps," Simon responded as he growled.

"I beat you once. What makes you think you can beat me?" Ares mockingly asked as he stood up, drawing his sword and aiming it at Simon. "But enough talk! Have at ye!" Ares exclaimed, charging at him. He had not even given his enemy a sword for a fair fight. "I may not be able to use a sword, but I sure can use every other trick a thief has," Simon said, throwing a smoke bomb on the ground. The whole room had then been filled with smoke as Ares looked around chuckling. "That didn't work the first time, what makes you think it would now?" he questioned.

Ares pulled back, swinging in the smoke, thinking he had hit Simon like before. But instead he just heard a strange noise as the smoke cleared.

Ares saw he had hit the throne. Simon had moved it to another position while he was blind. "Behind you," Simon grabbed one of Ares' swords from his side and kicked him back. "Urgh… okay, you have my attention," Ares groaned, and then he rolled up his sleeve, showing his one metal arm that was gripping his sword. "I shall give you the honor of my full strength" Ares said as the smoke was clearing and they were staring each other down.
