Elizabeth Tower was born to a pair of Indian immigrants to the United Kingdom, where she was raised as a U.K. citizen. Elizabeth was a prodigy, growing into a brilliant scientist by the time she reached her twenties. All throughout her life, Elizabeth was fascinated with the concept of time manipulation (beginning with a classic children's television programme), and began studying the subject as much as was possible with the limited prior research available on the subject.
Despite a total lack of assistance, her perseverance payed off and she finally succeeded in creating a "Tempore Congelata Field". Unfortunately, she also found herself becoming frozen within said field until her devices ran out of power. After realising that devices that were sealed inside airtight containers continued to function despite the field, she realised she would need some kind of protection against the field to move forward with her research.
She hired an engineer named Benjamin Bell to construct an airtight suit for use within the fields. Although the suit was cobbled together with spare parts, it ultimately worked as intended and Benjamin was able to move freely within the field. Realising the potential of the technology, Bell signed on to continue assisting Elizabeth in her research.
While testing a portable version of the device later on, there was an unforseen power surge, causing an explosion around Elizabeth. Thinking quickly, Benjamin activated the field and realised as he took hold of the frozen Elizabeth, that the technology at his disposal could be used to save lives. He asked Elizabeth for permission to use the armour as a super hero. Having experienced his heroics firsthand, Elizabeth broke a champagne bottle against his armoured chest and christened him, Big Ben.
Elizabeth would continue assisting Ben and his superhero allies by upgrading and refining the technology, which she also filed a patent for to help with her funding, in addition to the grants she received from the government. She briefly desired to become a superheroine herself, but realised her strength lay in a support role and gave up on the idea. She also began to develop feelings for Benjamin.
