Honestly, I've been trying to do some self portraits in a similar style..but I can't even come close. Your work has inspired me but I can't draw shit right now haha
I just got a wacom tablet so I've been painting in photoshop and it's a lot harder than I thought it would be

yeah, it's tough. i know you didn't ask for any advice, but i'm going to give you a little. there are tons of ways to paint in photoshop. don't feel you have to strictly follow tutorials. work with what makes you most comfortable. and LOTS of digital painters start with a pencil sketch, so if that feels better, give that a shot.

I did a self portrait (sort of) for a final project in highschool...was pretty metal, zombieskull with my name engraved on an inverted cross, and some other crap..maybe I should just scan that and then see what happens...

Definately digging this one aswell.. I love the feelings that are evoked from looking at these peices.. this one in particular gives me a fear vibe.. pain and pleasure mixing.. something along those lines. The building looks like a church.. and the figure on the bottom looks as if its running.. Shame?
Eh, I'm screwed up.
Either way, the colors and the images totally make this peice just as facinating as the other. Your art as a whole is simply breathtaking.

thank you very much! i'm very flattered. yeah, these are actually two of my favorites from the thesis. shame isn't too far off. instead of pain andn pleasure think suffering and pride i guess. but its way open to interpretation! glad you like my work. and thanks again!

Well, the figure doesn't have the stereotypical perfect model look. I get a sense of age or at least a lack of physical body building refinement rather than what seems to be the current world view of the "perfect body." I personally find it rather interesting and unique. There's more movement and expression.

loving the dirty, freaky, grungy style and the way those vibrant colors clash and contrast with the black. Extraordinarily well done. A great addition to the thesis. :>
