This is a commission for Axelthebrony, of Vinyl Scratch as Skrillex and Octavia as Deadmau5! This image was a blast to do, and I tried some new and exciting things artistically. This piece is a balance between 4 colors, which was a new challenge for me. I also tried to make the lighting as realistic as possible. There's a great deal of bounced light and a lot of thought went into each pixel of this image (the guys who sat with me through about 15 hours of livestreams can vouch!)
Let me know what you think! Constructive criticism would be most appreciated, especially on the new things that I tried.

First of all I love the way you match them with the DJ's, Vinyl sure is like Skrillex and i have to accept that Octavia is great as Deadmau5, we never know when is the bass drop of he's songs.
The mixing table is awesome, its a great detail to make down the records make it glow neon, and not only down there, all the glowing lights around them makes it awesome!
Particualy the expresions and pose of them really match the DJ's even tho Octy is not that active, draw her as Mau5 sure changes her way to be, and the Mau5 mask is awesome!. It is really hard to draw in 2D, but you make it so well!
I like the fact that they are not exacly aganist the wall like in mosltly places where the DJ's is supposed to be, that they are in the middle, around all the ponies enjoying the music.

OK... Let's see. To start, yes the lighting is very expertly done. The green and the orange are very visible, but they don't overwhelm the scene. I enjoy the details you went through to put the dust look in the air. Almost as if the bass was so high the dust from hell came to join. The neon blue effect from tavis deadmu5 mask has a glow that shines out in this dark room.THe individual detail you went through, such as the single on tavis shirt, and pinkie over in the right goes a long long way. Personally I feel it was a grand decision putting pinkie pie in the party, being the pony she is of course. I can't quite tell who the ponies on the left are, look like the cmc, I don't know. The bass is a little tilted, I don't know if you were aiming for this, ( probably were) but it looks good. It gives a lot of movement in the scene. On to the expressions. You obviously can't tell tavis face expression, but her body language says she's having fun. Vynil is looking over in a, "love my life" sort of way. That speaks a lot! She is still deeply enjoying being with her friend and doing her special talent at the same time. I have one quarrel. The actual DJ system seems to bland. For example, every knob on it is the exact same, how are the ponies to tell the difference? You did make change by making the RED slider. I think different colors, placement, and labels would have gone a long way.
I love this piece, it brings really good music to mlp. GOOD JOB NEIL!
