Description Those who are following me on Twitter may have noticed a number of tweets hashtagged #OpGalacon2013 . Essentially, along with three others, I decided to take a vacation in the German Black Forest, combinding this with the attendance of Galacon in Ludwigsburg, Germany, one of Europe's major pony conventions. It was a lot of fun; planning, driving to the campsite, just driving around the area with not a worry in the world and of course seeing what the fuzz is all about with all these pony conventions.

So I decided to draw this; a low effort piece trying to encapsulate the trip in a single picture. There's a lot of in-jokes in this, so let's get started.

Of course there is Wallii, my trusty 2000 Mazda 626, fitted with roof braces to carry my parents' ski box. Also, Wallii is a slightly too friendly transforming car, or at least, that would be hilarious as shit.

On our way to Strassbourg, France, there was a Frenchman in his big ass RV tailgating us for having the audacity of obeying the speed limit, which are fairly high in Germany. We ended up next to each other at a traffic light and of course this was a thing now, so it ended up becoming a drag race. Of course a 1600 kg sedan is going to beat a vehicle that weights three metric tonnes.

Canni Soda, Galacon's official masscot OC pony is riding the RV, this is obligatory.

Our vocabulary gradually changed into this weird mixture of English, German, Dutch and French, we stopped using the English phrases and just used "stau" to refer to any sort of traffic jam "because it's nice and short".

~ShiroPoint , dude on the front-left, was our designated "Pinkie Pie unit" and he was responsible for cooking and fun activities, he also made many, many pictures, prompting us to say he was "Japanning all over the place". Nonetheless, having someone take that many pictures is a blessing, especially in the aftermath.

Next to him is yours truly, designated "Twilight unit", responsible for the logistics of the trip. I was also the only driver, though we had another driver, just in case. We joked about how everything in Germany is very fast and efficient and it gave birth to the psuedo-German phrase "ICH MÜST ARBEITEN!", which was extra appropriate because I was wearing a fancy suit with a bright green tie for the actual gala event. Essentially it means "I MUST GET TO WORK", because Germans are very busy bees, or at least, that's our head cannon.

There's a chinook in the background because we saw one on our way to Germany.

Behind ~ShiroPoint is his friend Angel Beat, he's rocking out to the hilarious shenanigans that are unfolding.

Behind me is Metal Sonic, a genuine German from the industrious Rurh area. He was our designated "Spike unit" responsible for dealing with anything German. Like a true German, he is serious about the situation, exploring his surroundings to see if there are any staus ahead.

In any case, the trip was highly amusing, it certainly was a long time since the last time I went camping. I regret nothing, except for maybe not fixing my phone's GPS before we left.

Oh, this is so hilarious, I love your pseudo German.
The use of the word "Müst" is totally okay, i've heared germans speaking a worse german. ^^

I find your lack of "Applejack unit" disturbing.
We'll see if there's something to do about it the next time the con is around. Provided you'll risk another trip through France .

Also Angel Beat looks like a likeable guy.

"Ich müst arbeiten" is actually wrong, instead of "müst(this word doesn't even exists XD)" you should write "muss". So "Ich muss arbeiten" or "Ich muss zur Arbeit" is the corect sentence. But nonetheless nice picture and yeah STAU

In the description I did point out that the phrase is pseudo-German, ergo, it's not actual German but just something that looks like it. However, thank you for showing me what it is in actual German. My German is very elementary to the point where I can sort of read it, but can't write or speak it to save my life.

Also, stau, stau everywhere.

He's actually not entirely right with that correction. "Ich müsste arbeiten." is a valid German phrase. It's conditional, whereas "Ich muss arbeiten." is indicative. That is, it's a difference of "I should be working" versus "I have to work." Many Germans would probably skip the "e" in müsste, and pretty much everybody would understand if you said it the way you wrote it.

Also, this strikes me as a fairly accurate depiction of what long trips on the Autobahn are like.
