Description Halloween was weird this year. Absolutely nothing went right. It started with plans falling through, then ended with a bunch of little costume issues that- on any other day- would have had me simply putting things away to try again under better circumstances. These included making an entirely new wig over the span of 3 hours, then deciding that it wasn't right and scrapping the darn thing.

We had a bit of a culture shock- downtown Sunnyvale was flat-out dead, as was downtown Mountain View. NOTHING was happening. So, in the end we went back to the apartment, took a few photos, and ordered a pizza.

That being said, despite the difficulties, we did get some neat photos, and established that the costumes look decent together!

After battling with makeup/wig for him (two different wigs, one of which was the above mentioned home-made one), we finally gave up and just washed his face and had him wear the rest of the outfit sans wraithification.

The vest/jerkin is from the actual show. Collar, sleeves, shoulders, gauntlets, and skirting are all my work.

That is the coolest Wraith outfit I have seen outside of SGA itself! And he does look like Chris!! I'm so jealous right now, I'm more green than the average Wraith.

The floor length part, the sleeves, collar, gauntlets, and shoulders are my work, and the over-vest is an authentic piece from the show that we snagged from ebay.

WOW! He actually look like Chris Heyerdahl! Your attention to detail on the costume is amazing! Very well done.

Thank you! We kept saying, "Wow, Chris looks like Michael" as we were watching the show. I make costumes for a living- my guy is tall and lean...it was only a matter of time before a Wraith or Halling costume happened. Hehe.

Awesome! And again, really nice work! I'm uber jealous of your costuming skills, if I had the money I'd get up to that quality, hopefully!

Next stop: Druitt from Sanctuary!

The costumes look great, both of them, so thanks for posting and for the link to the album. And the make-up videos are awesome, I can hardly wait to try the ideas myself, so THANKS!

Have you ever thought about making the pattern for the vest, now that you have an original?

Have a rocking week!

The vest is actually a very, very simple pattern. I was actually surprised at how simple it is. It's just rectangles, no special fitting or anything. Heck, even the arm holes are square!

Thank you so much for the kind words. <3

Thank you kindly (I'll pass on the compliment). I tried to get him to keep the makeup and just use his hair, but he didn't want to be a blond curly wraith. Hehe.

Wowwww that is an awesome piece of work, so cool! The shoulders are just amazing.

Agh, I had my share of things not going right for Halloween- mostly time crunch, nervous breakdown etc... ended up rushing some quick and dirty solutions and got us out in more or less complete looking costumes.

Real bummer about your town being dead like that! Maan. You would've had a blast here in Fort Collins.

Awww thanks Jen! <3

Sorry to hear that you had a hectic time getting there, but glad to hear that things came together. I hope you took photos! I'd love to see. *hugs*

The wraith are totally making an appearance at this upcoming Dragon*Con. <3 They'll just keep getting better and better.

Hee. The original plan was to do a crepe-wool/makeup combo, but I ended up only having about thirty seconds to throw that on before heading out the door. ~giannimartelli was trimming my cape to the proper length as I was painting it on, to give an idea of our time crunch XD
