Description Wendy drove like a mad woman through Gravity falls trying to get Dipper to the Pacifica Holiday Log Cabins where Norman had stayed the entire summer. Now summer was over and Norman was leaving to go back to his hometown of Blithe Hollow. Mabel and Soos held on for dear life in the back of the Golf Buggy and Waddles squealed as Wendy swerved it to a halt just in front of Norman's cabin.

The Babcock Family car was packed up and Norman had his hand on the car door when Wendy pulled up and Dipper jumped out. "Norman, time to go" Norman's father, Perry Babcock grunted as he slided into the drivers seat "Make it quick" he added.

Norman stood awkwardly as Dipper ran to him.

"You-You were just going to leave, without saying goodbye to us?" Dipper panted "Without saying goodbye to me?"

"I said I was going home today…" said Norman, he winced "…Before you left on your date with Wendy. Thatwasmy goodbye"

"What? Are you kidding me? Norman, you're my best friend, I don't want you to leave" Dipper frowned, he had never been this close to tears in his life. Norman would not even look at him.

"You have Wendy now, what do you need me for?" Norman asked miserably, he held his right arm at the elbow with his left hand.

"But that's just it Norman, I came here to tell you…I never got a chance to tell you what happened on the date…" Dipper seized his chance, but Norman just stiffened.

"I don't want to hear how it went" he groaned "I just…I can't pretend that I'm fine with all of this, Dipper. I'm glad you got what you wanted, I just wanted you to be happy, but now…I can't pretend that helping you win over Wendy and you being with her didn't…doesn't hurt" Tears stung Norman's eyes.

"What? Norman, I don't understand, why are you being like this? Can't you just listen to me for one second?"

"Are you really this Naive? Or are you just so goddamn dense and insensitive? Goodbye Dipper" Norman ignored Dipper's pleas as he got into the back seat of the car and slammed the door shut. He wanted this horrible moment to be over and done with and was thankful when his father out the car into gear and drove.

"Norman! Norman! Please! I never got to tell you…" Dipper faltered, he glanced hopelessly back at Wendy, Mabel and Soos. Tears were streaming from his sisters eyes.

Courtney turned in her seat and looked out of the back window and shook her head "Norman, what are you doing?" she asked in a pitying tone. Norman stared out of the window with his head in his hand.

"Norman, you have to tell him the truth. Just go back there and tell him how you feel" Courtney placed a comforting hand on her brothers should.

"It's too late now anyway" he mumbled.

"Dad! Oh my god Stop the Car now!" Courtney shrieked suddenly and in panic Perry slammed his foot on the breaks and the car halted. Norman nearly struck the back of his fathers seat.

"What! What's wrong? Courtney?" Perry swirled in his seated and glared at his daughter for scaring the living daylights out of him.

"Norman Babcock, you march back there right now and you tell that boy how you feel about him" Courtney nearly jabbed his face with her finger as she furiously ordered him.

"But what if he doesn't feel the same?" Norman protested.

"Is that any worse than how you're leaving it right now? If you don't go back there you're going to lose him anyway. Trust me on this Norman. You don't want to leave things the way they are. You'll regret this" said Courtney, she glanced out the window "Norman, look at him"

Norman couldn't.

"Norman" his mother said softly from the front seat, she had recovered from the scare and surveyed her son with a kind and caring look "Do you love that boy?" she asked. His father looked from Norman to his wife in disbelief.

"Yeah" Norman admitted sadly.

"Then he deserves to hear the truth, from you" she nodded. Norman could not argue with his sister much less his mother. Every fiber of his body cried out for him to stay put, but still, he opened the door slowly, slipped off of the seat and ran back towards the cabin.

"What? What's going on?" he heard his father say.

"Isn't it obvious dad?" Courtney said in her best 'don't be so stupid' voice, "Norman's in love"

Dipper had already turned to leave, walking slowly back to the golf cart where his sister Mabel waited with open arms. It was when she gasped and he heard Norman's voice that he stopped "Dipper! Dipper wait!"

Now it was Norman's turn to be out of breath, he was not as fit as Dipper and it was a few moments before he regained enough breath to speak "There's something I have to tell you. I'll understand if you never want to see me again but" he paused and Dipper thought for a moment he was not going to finish.

Norman straightened and took a deep breath "I…I have feelings for you" he said seriously "I-I-I love you"

Dipper heard Mabel gasp happily behind him, his features went completely red. He had come to the cabins to tell Norman just that, and here he was saying it to him. His heart was beating erratically in his chest so hard that he felt as though his entire body was pulsing.

"Norman…I'm sorry" said Dipper shaking his head.

"Yeah, I thought as much" said Norman, he sighed and then turned to leave. Dipper grabbed his shoulder.

"I've been such a jerk to you, you've been helping me with my crazy plans to impress Wendy all this time and I didn't realise how you felt, I'm sorry" said Dipper, Norman nodded - he did not seem to understand what Dipper was trying to say.

"It's fine" said Norman.

"No it isn't. Listen, when I went on that date with Wendy, we started talking about you" said Dipper.

"Me? Why?" Norman blinked.

"Look the point is, I realised that Wendy's not the one I want to be with. That date…should have been with you" Dipper said finally, and it was as though a weight had finally been lifted off of his shoulders. He laughed.

"Oh" Norman blinked again.

"Yeah, maybe you should have let me talk earlier" Dipper chuckled "And you called me dense?"

"And insensitive" Norman chuckled.

"Shut up" Dipper grabbed Norman's other shoulder and pulled him into a deep kiss, he felt Norman tense and worried perhaps he had went to far "Too much? That was too much wasn't it?" Dipper babbled when they pulled apart. Norman just shook his head and wrapped his arms around Dippers neck.

"Not enough" he smiled and kissed Dipper. Norman could hear the car pulling up nearby and suddenly became aware that he had to leave.

"So…" Norman mumbled "Does this mean that we're…boyfriends?" asked Norman.

"Yes! Uh…yes, I mean yeah" Dipper beamed, he looked past Normans head and his smiled faded "Guess this is goodbye then?" he asked.

"C'mon Norman or we'll hit traffic!" Norman's father called from the car, honking the horn.

"There's so much I want to say" Norman became flustered, Dipper chuckled and hugged his boyfriend tightly. Even in his head it was nice to be able to call Norman that for real. His Norman.

"I know, this really sucks" Dipper did not want to let Norman go "I like you from the minute I saw you, I just wish I'd been smart enough to realise that and have the guts to say something before now"

"Heh, when I saw you at the window…" Norman began, he tensed when his father honked the horn again.

"Norman! Wrap it up!"

Norman whirled around with clenched fists "Dammit Dad, give me a minute!" he roared. Everyone fell silent, Dipper smiled in disbelieve that Norman had raised his voice, and to his Dad no less! His father grumbled something but fell silent.

"Here, I want you to have this" said Dipper he took off his hat, held Normans hand and placed it there. Before Norman could say anything, Dipper took out a small notepad on his pocket and scribbled on the front sheet. He then ripped it off and placed it in the hat "My number and my e-mail and you better keep in touch" said Dipper.

"Dipper, I can't take your hat" Norman shook his head.

"I have a few" Dipper waved him off, then smiled affectionately at him "But that's my favorite one, so you better be coming back"

"I will, I promise" Norman said, there was determination in his voice. He glanced back at the car then back to Dipper "One for the road?" he smiled wryly. Dipper rolled his eyes and sighed dramatically, then smiled and leaned in for one last kiss.

"Goodbye Norman" he whispered.

"Bye Dipper" said Norman, he looked past him to Mabel and then opened his arms "Bye Mabel"

Mabel rushed towards him and hugged him as though she were trying to break him in half "Bye Norman, we'll miss you" she said, whipping tears from her eyes.

"Don't do that, you'll make me cry" Norman sniffed.

"Group hug!" Mabel called. Soos and Wendy knelt down beside them, even Waddles the pig jumped from the back of the cart to join in. When they had said their goodbyes Norman stole one another kiss from Dipper and waved goodbye as he back walked to the car.

"Dibs on being Maid of Honor" Mabel elbowed her brother, his eyes widened.

Norman waved from the car window as the Babcock family car made its way towards the main road and disappeared. A few moments later his phone vibrated and with a smile he read the message from Norman;

Dad says you and Mabel can come over for Christmas, love you x x x

Dipper typed his text in quick reply;

We're there, I owe you a date. Love you too x x x
