Surgebreaker cocked her gun and rubbed off the scope, not wanting to miss her target due to some smudge on the lens. Besides, if she didn’t get paid, then she didn’t eat. And she wanted to get paid, especially with this large sum.

She had had anonymous clients before. They weren’t as common, but that didn’t mean she never got them. But this one… Something was very different about it.

It started with a simple letter. Just an enclosed letter with small signature at the bottom. In the letter contained information on the target – some Decepticon named Meteor Shower – promising a handsome sum of credits if she got the job done within the next week. And once she had gotten the job done, she was supposed to press this red button that came with the letter. She wasn’t sure what it was, she was just supposed to press it.

Oh well. These were the kind of requests that she lived for. Decepticon targets. Filthy disgusting bastards… She loathed them. They were vile monsters. Primus, she had only been a young sparkling when they had tried to torture her…

She shivered at the memories, her spark burning in rage at the thought. To kill one of them was simply a treat and her pleasure.

She could see her target now. She could only guess why he was here. There was a mineshaft not too far from their position – no doubt these guys were here to mine some energon and taking to back to base. It currently looked like him and his teammates were scouting the area for Autobots. Typical… Always looking for a fight.

It hadn’t been too hard to track the mech. In fact, it seemed rather simple. He was a regular over at a bar near her house, so the owner knew him fairly well. Like she suspected, he and his friends were bastards every time they showed up.

After a little investigating, she came across a prostitute that Meteor Shower hooked up with regularly. She couldn’t remember the prostitute’s name, but she did remember her being dumber than a pile of dirt. As it turned out though, the hooker had some useless information. Apparently, the Decepticon didn’t know how to keep his mouth shut and had told the femme that he and his friends would be mining soon.

From there, it wasn’t hard to track him.

Primus, she had had careless targets before… But this guy was just some other kind of special stupid. Whoever wanted him dead didn’t really have much a reason to hire her. They could have easily just have walked up to him and shoot him in the face. Whatever he had done must have made her client furious – probably did something he shouldn’t have but who knew.

Just looking at him infuriated her. People would have told her she was blinded by vengeance, but they didn’t know. They didn’t know the horrors she went through as a child. So young… So innocent once… And they tortured her for information she didn’t have. Beat her, forced so much pain onto her…

She shook off the horrid memories. Setting up her gun, she aimed it at the mech’s helm. She would have to wait until he was alone. The last thing she wanted was to get caught by his friends. Not that she wouldn’t mind killing off the rest of these Decepticons, but that was not her assignment. She only had to kill one target for her client and one target only. They may not pay her if she killed more than one.

An assassin was about stealth, not about how many targets she could kill all at once, guns blazing. One simple shot and dead. Payment in the bank before bed. That was how it was for her and she didn’t think she would have it any other way… Especially if her targets were these bastards.

She heard some orders being shouted from the group below. Turning her focus back to them, she watched as the group went into the shaft. Meteor Shower, however, stood guard and waited outside, keeping watch and probably making sure no Autobots came around.

Idiotic fool. He should have been more concerned with his own life.

She aimed for his forehelm. A quick, clean shot. That was all it would take. But she waited a few minutes, wanting his companions to be deep enough inside the cave where they couldn’t see or hear their friend fall dead.

Meteor Shower was obviously starting to get bored as he began to pace a bit. The mech must have usually been the one in action… She was really starting to wonder what this big fool had done to anger her client. Just looking at him as a mech, he seemed harmless enough. Stupid, yes, but harmless. If she ignored the fact that he was a Decepticon.

Once five minutes passed, she assured herself that his comrades were out of the way. Once he stopped pacing to simply look around, she aimed right in between his optics when he looked in her direction. It almost looked like he was looking right at her, his optics piercing into hers…

His soulless, bright red optics. The ones of a merciless killer. The same ones that had looked at her as a child, beating her, torturing her…

A wave of fear and rage swelled in her sparking, making her grit her teeth together. Filthy bastards… All of them. They were all monsters.

“Die.”

A single silent shot was fired. It hit the mech dead center in between the optics. He looked stunned for the single moment he was still standing, not seeing it coming. He had taken a step back before grumbling to the ground, face first. He just lied there motionless as his body turned gray.

Target-hit confirmed. Mission completed.

When Surgebreaker had returned home, she grabbed the envelope of her kitchen counter. Sitting down on the small table, she pulled out the small red button provided and pressed it.

Nothing happened for a few moments. Was it broken? A trap? A bomb even? But before she could react to what it might be, the red button then started to glow before a small hologram came up to projected a hood face.

Well, her client did want to be anonymous after all…

“The target – Meteor shower – has been taken care of. No witnesses around, one single shout.”

The client – she could only assume he was the client – gave a dark laughed. She could see he was using a speech transmitter to cloak what his real voice sounded like. It was a little disturbing to say the least. But she said nothing of it.

“Excellent work,” he purred. “As promised, the credits will be deposited in your account immediately. Plus a small bonus for how efficiently you carried out your assignment.”

This was certainly a generous client… The payment was already more than enough. Whoever she was dealing with was more than just a rich man with a vendetta. He was a powerful threat.

“Thank you very much.”

“Oh no, Miss Surgebreaker. Thank you.”

Then the client cut off the connection, the device sparking and fizzing out. She dropped it, fearing it was a bomb. Instead though, it just crackled a little bit before smoke started coming out of it. Self-destruct… Interesting. At least it hadn’t tried to kill her.

But as she pondered as to who her client was, she was just glad that she had been able to have such credits to spend at her leisure. It would certainly be nice to purchase some of the new gun models.

The mech gave a dark chuckle as the connection cut off. Satisfied, he picked up a datapad and removed his hood, leaning back into his seat.

“You certainly looked pleased with yourself.”

“I suppose I just have a thing for femmes with guns,” the older mech chuckled, turning his chair around to face his leader. “She’s quite cute.”

“I care more about her skills than her appearance.”

Bombrush gave a soft laugh as Megatron came more into the room. He wasn’t sure how this femme had gotten on Megatron’s radar, but she had. And Megatron always inquired about things that interested him. It may have cost them a soldier, but they had plenty to spare, as Megatron put it. Not to mention Meteor Shower was a somewhat worthless grunt. There were plenty more where he came from.

“Well, as for her skills, they were quite good. Though I personally feel that the target we gave her was too easy… It didn’t take her long.”

“Well, I’m looking for efficiency.”

Bombrush laughed again, turning away from him. “So… What shall we do now?”

“Wait another few months before we give her a new assignment… I’ll pick out the target this time.”

“Very well.”

Then Megatron walked out of the room, leaving Bombrush to look over the data of the femme. The mech always loved putting interesting people to the test… And it wasn’t as if she couldn’t be easily dealt with if things grew messy. As skilled of an assassin as she was, she was still easy to get rid of.

But that was for another day. For now, he was simply analyze the data before him and wait until Megatron gave him the order to do it all over again.

What fun that would be.

Sweet! I really like it! XD
Thanks, and it's fine the Bombrush was mentioned.
lol though it's better for Bombrush if he didn't meet Surgebreaker face-to-face

Though mentioning of giving her another assignment makes me curious >_<
Really have to make a story of my transformer OCs...at least with Stormsplitter rescuing Surgebreaker.

Short stories seem easier to do than the longer ones...
Though, I guess it could be easier when you do a collab like what you do with your friend on some of your stories

They can be, lol.

Yeah, that always does help cut time in half... Until you both get stuck.
