Here, Roger is reading a book at his college campus when a random idea for a prank comes to his mind. Being one who enjoys the occasional practical joke, this happens quite a bit. It was an unplanned coincidence on my part that April Fool's Day and May's birthday are on the same day; the poor girl has to come to expect getting pranked or trolled by her father every birthday (they're not harmful, of course, as they're family, and it's all in good fun!) An example of this in the story was when May came with him to work, expecting to find her presents in his office, only to find out he wasn't keeping them there, but were being held by another faculty member (so she had indirectly trolled herself; her father knew she would do that). Of course, she didn't mind going with him; she likes being with her daddy anyways <3

“Son, put that back down.” Roger told his two-year old boy, John, as he grabbed at random baby paraphernalia off the shelves with his little hands.
“John, do what daddy says.” His expecting mother, Virginia, instructed him.
John, being a typical two-year old, acted as though he hadn’t heard them, and continued playing with the little blue pacifier. His father gently seized it from his hands and put it back, causing him to whine. His mother picked him up with her arms and held him against herself.
“We’ll be out of here soon,” Roger rubbed the top of his head, “and you’ll be able to play with your toys at home.”
“I wanna play right now!”
“We have to get things for your baby sister, remember?” His mother said as they headed for the diaper aisle.
“I wanna play!” His little, yet shrill voice pierced the air.
