I like to think this would've been a better alternative to the Super 17 plot from GT. Bringing Piccolo Daimo back from hell (with an insane power boost, of course) would've made the perfect opponent for Kid Goku.

Indeed I've been watching Dragonball king Piccolo saga lately. King Piccolo's soul reincarnate in his own son. That's why Kami (being the good half of King Piccolo), didn't die when Goku terminated him, and dissappeared when Piccoro Junior was murdered by Nappa in the Saiyan saga
