Well am I in a princess mood or what?
I was feeling kinda uninspired and unmotivated today, so I started sketching random things on paper, and eventually came up with this: a pair of drawings representing the classic/old-school version of Daisy, back when she had long hair and looked all latino with her darker tan (Mario Party 3 and before).
For some reason, I prefer this design over the current one. Maybe it's just a phase, or maybe I'm just tired of seeing her present design... you decide.
Anyway, enjoy!

honestly this is a common misconception. daisy has actually never had tan skin. the only times she had a ''tan" was only for the artworks for some of the n64 games. in the actual games, daisy had light skin. characters like mario or wario were also light skinned in game, though they had tans in artwork.

Lol you can't say "she never had a tan skin" and "the only time she had tan skin was..." in the same sentence.

Changing her skin and giving her a tan was a mistake to begin with. Redhead's are light-skinned and Daisy's original appearance was that of a fair-skinned girl. As for setting her apart, that was never needed in the first place as she was always meant to be similar to Peach. Even then, her short stature and red hair more than enough set her apart from the blonde princess.
As is it is rather moot nowadays as Peach has started sporting a ponytail at times and her face has become elongated while Daisy's has become more round. The tan skin simply isn't needed anymore, never made any sense and looked like shit to begin with.

tbh i think it's just silly in general to complain over a fictional character's skin tone. i mean really, daisy has always had a fair complexion, just accept it. not to mention it sounds a bit racist in a way lol

Well, her dress now looks like a recolor of Peach's. I mean yeah, her hair was closer in style to Peach's with her older version, but her dress was definitely different. Maybe just give classic Daisy her short hair, and my statement MAY be more accurate. lol

I actually saw this one at the walkthrough at the game and I saw daisy old version, didn't expected to be unique and great
I always wonder why they change it at the first place, since she do look girly and yet awesome, it was really great of the irony of how daisy is strong since I saw that time when I saw daisy hit bowser real hard to throw him off. the irony of her is the best despite of how she is

I love this version of Daisy. It likes perfectly between her very first design (where she was basically a redhead Peach clone in a yellow dress) and her new, kinda more bland design.
I do love the more tanned skintone (her kingdom is a desert, after all) and I've always loved her inexplicably red crown. Expressions are awesome too.

Out of all the Mario characters, Daisy's my favorite. Design-wise, I prefer her current outfit and hairstyle, mainly because it's more elaborate (I love elaborate designs) However, I prefer her tan skin over her pale skin.
