I think I have a thing for haunting yet beautiful songs. My Immortal - Evanescence and this song just blow me away. <3 But yes, the song and the picture is depressing. xD
When I heard this song, I was entranced. I had one of those moments where if I closed my eyes, I could picture a scene, and that scene was what I wanted to paint. The first idea was actually of her jumping off a building, but I figured I wasn't good enough for buildings yet. FEAR NOT. I WILL ATTEMPT TO SNEAK IN SOME BACKGROUNDS AND IMPROVE MY ARTIST SKILL SOON.
..So anyways, the idea I wanted to portray, more so the feeling, was of a woman throwing her life away as if she has already lost everything. I wanted to sort of.. capture the feel of helplessness and her embrace for the end. I didn't want to simply do a picture of someone hanging. I wanted to capture the true emotion, the climax of feeling as she readies the noose; As she holds onto the very thing that will end her. It adds a sort of depth to the image. It's not "This is a dead girl." This is "A girl who is GOING to die because of something beyond me." It's not just a thing. It's human. A human with a mind and a story.
..Sorry if I'm getting too deep, but yes. That's the process behind this image. Sorry if you just want to look at this picture because it's puurrrdy. xD

The feeling you put into this is hardcore awesome.

I almost want to cry as I listen to the song and look at the image.

Poor girl, meng. I love the blue tones that you used as well; it adds a thick layer of sadness and loss to the already depressing cake that you baked.

Her face really draws you in~ Oh I just read a quote which your image reminds me of. I think it said, 'Suicide isn't chosen- it happens when pain exceeds resources for coping' or something like that. I guess I'll never truly understand the feeling, but I do believe you captured the emotion well

Ah backgrounds are so harddd. I completely left it out in the last picture I painted ;A;. I was actually going to practice painting a landscape just before starting that lol. Oh well~
