Thanks, Razz!! <3 I like doing a lot of details. I'm looking forward to the day my line skills are muuuuch better and then the details will be set against something... well, better. Some of the official Transformers comic book artists are AMAZING in their detail work! I look to their stuff for guidance in that arena

I find that background and good linework are not necessarily the same thing (I mean, just look at my half-assed backgrounds XD). You can do some amazing stuff with your colors if you're up for experimentation. A big thing in comics is contrasting characters with the background, which can be done with strategies like detailed character/simple background (or the reverse), or varying line widths or a character who has lines with a background that doesn't (or the reverse)... There's a ton you can do in this arena and it's fun to mess around and work with your personal favorite parts of art.

That might be something else you can enjoy if you do watch Samurai Jack. The art style is very intentional with a huge emphasis on character design/silhouette because the show's design has a lot to do with color (Genndy, the creator, describes it as "black vs white on a red background" and "no blue skies, no green grass"). Movement and stylization are probably the biggest components of the show; it's all very broad strokes (even in terms of story). I'm...going to stop talking about this show because I will go on about it forever. XD
