Not wrong, and not based on another fanβs concept.
My sabre here is Darth Baneβs straight hilt from the Battle of Ruusan, as seen in Star Wars: Jedi Vs. Sith (2001) from Dark Horse comics. The very first published illustration (Star Wars Secrets of the Sith, Lucas Books 2000) of Darth Bane featured the white pupiled, helmeted, orbalisked armoured, Sith Lord with a violet bladed straight-handled light sabre.
To date, there has been no licensed representation of Darth Baneβs curved hilt. The first mention of the curved hilt associated with Darth Bane came in the Star Wars Gamer (2001) issue three, with a violet blade. The illustration for that article, βBane of the Sith,β featured a violet bladed straight hilt.
The Darth Bane in the 2006 comic SW Legacy, issue 6, is based on photographs of my costume. The lightsabre was not shown in during his/my cameo.

I did not know that. It seems the novel is no longer canon, although the character of Bane is, so I guess there is no point in arguing.Β
