When I started reading Marvels, this was the current FF line-up: Human Torch, Crystal, Ms Marvel II (Sharon Ventura), and The Thing as capable leader.

Drawn by the classic team of John Buscema and Joe Sinnott, and written by Steve Englehart, there some interesting concepts, eventually leading to the return of the Beyonder in a storyline later referred as Secret Wars 3.

Same here!Β  and I remember Sharon referring to an incident that happened to her that made her uncomfortable for people to touch her or have phsycial contact with her.Β  Im not sure what happened but when she became the Thing it was like something she had yearned for.Β  And then they just dropped it.Β

That was from the Captain America series and the Thing solo series I think… the Power Broker who gave her the initial powers, gave her a trauma. Id did like her as Thing, though I also really liked her original costume. Especially when drawn by John Buscema!

Buscema is one of the best! Yeah … I didn't care much for his work on Wolvernine but that's one in lord knows how many books he helmed! Β

Yes, yes and yes! I loved their big journey to the Beyonder's realm. Englehart always had a good handle on sprawling sagas!

And what about Kristoff Vernard becoming the new Doc Doom, as good old Vic admitted to have a weakness and the robotic Dooms took him for a fake?

Thank you! It wasn't everyone's favorite line-up, but it was a nice throw-back right in the 90s!
