Both were formerly Low profile characters mainly defined as bully’s. Before suffering terrible injuries on the battlefield (Flash Thomson losing his legs and Skywarp losing control of his teleportation and his body becoming intangible)

both would have these injuries healed at a cost by the US military (Flash bonding with the venom Symbiote which would let him walk again but he is unable to fully control it for a long period of time and Skywarp would have his teleportation disabled entirely by the EDC)

both would then become super soldiers for the US Military pacifically called in to deal with big threats and would even work alongside iconic American heros (Captain America and GI Joe)

boths Arsenals consist of traditional weaponry adapted into their alien body (the Venom symbiote curating heavy weaponry from its body and Skywarp having weaponry built into his body of which is scanned from human military vehicles)

both would make peace with and become best friends with someone they had a complicated relationship with in the past (Peter Parker and Thundercracker)
