I Know, But I Kinda Like It Super Spaced...
And Making Fun Of A Distro..? That's A Little Immature.. Most People Who Hate On BackTrack Are Just Ubuntu Haters Who Can't Use Or Have No Need For Backtrack Tools... Would That Describe You?

I don't generally hate Ubuntu, I just don't like the way they do things, but I do believe in freedom of choice. So if you want to use it, great, go ahead. And no, I don't have a need for the tools in Backtrack, but there's nothing that couldn't be done with any other distro, you even find most of the pre-installed stuff in most distros' repos.

From my experience, most Backtrack users are actually nothing more than script kiddies. Obviously this makes me somewhat biased whenever somebody mentions the distro. In my opinion, if you are serious about using the tools provided on the Backtrack image for "penetration testing", you should be knowledgeable enough to set up your system by hand, otherwise you don't even know what you are "testing".

Then I see some questions from Backtrack users about basic Linux administration, and I just facepalm...

So yeah - Would that describe you?

Haha, yeah look, I agree, backtrack has been marketed as the '1337 h4x0r' distro. And I also acknowledge that there are less than 10 tools that I actually use for 'hacking' purposes (after all Im still a noob and I just like playing around).
But It is just nice knowing that when I get board I can look at some other tools I've never tried and have a go. And yes, I love my nse scripts. And I admit I'm no hacker, the real hackers are the ones who write the scripts.

I guess I just like having a stable system with all the pen test tools in one place. I also love running my system as root. I know that can be dangerous, but If I break my system, Ill just have to fix it

It really isn't a good Idea to use BackTrack as a primary operating system. Its intended to be used specifically for penetration testing and therefore has some pretty gaping security flaws.
