Loving your weechat-config, but I'm annoyed with the red background on the current buffer: [link] I tried changing 'color_current_bg' in the variable %default_options_color in the script buffers.pl but nothing changes, and I can't find anything about the red bg in your weechat.conf. Have you changed buffers.pl or something? Also, could you maybe give me a list of your scripts used? Thanks!

hey mate, sorry to disappoint you, but that was a while ago.. and I no longer have any configs.. Im on a stock install with KDE. As you can see, that red highlight didn't show on my weechat... maybe look for anything in the config with that hex color code. color pick it and find out the #color then maybe you can change it to be transparent or just the same as background color. I do miss that setup I once had.. but I got sick of tiling.. it is great for laptops, but I like my eye candy on my desktop

Ah bugger but thanks anyway! My "OCD" goes berserk with that horrible red/cyan combo so currently staying with my irssi setup [link] I tried with the default config and it was just the same, so it seems like something is missing in the weechat.conf, or maybe something is outdated since your config was for v0.3.5, and I'm using 0.3.8. Guess my best shot will be to ask on #weechat or the one(s) who made buffers.pl I haven't tried a tiling WM before, currently using KDE on my desktop myself and openbox on the laptop. I can really say I miss tiling way more on my laptop than my desktop, so prob going to try it out in the near future

yeah I totally agree. Tiling is great when you want to conserve screen real estate, but on a 24" monitor.. its kinda unnecessary. Unless of course you are a programmer and you are inside terminals all day long I dont even use weechat anymore.. (since i now use linux on my desktop) I use graphical front ends for most of the things I once ran in terminals to make for a friendly computer in case my girlfriend wants to use it Im sure Ill be back hacking code soon enough.. I just got a bit lazy I think

Graphical frontends are also nice, but with some programs I really don't feel the need for it, like for example with an IRC-client og a text editor (Vim!). I'm also running my irssi on a remote shell in a screen-session so I can just log in from wherever I might be.Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future then, love the minimalistic style of your setups! I know the feel of lazyness, there are times when I'm using Windows on my desktop for weeks because I can't be arsed to boot back and forth. Sadly, I've started gaming again so have to use Windows

I just installed a few games on my linux partition.. assultcube and sauerbraten are two that I really enjoy. It seems all the FPS games for linux are either Quake or CS like... but I dont mind. Sauerbraten is crazy, give it a shot

I'm actually mostly playing Quake Live, and that should work on Linux but it stretches over my two monitors instead of just being displayed at one. I have to run another X-session or something like that in order for it to work, and I just can't be arsed to fix it at the moment Both assaultcube and sauerbraten looks decent, but I'm addicted to Quake Thanks for the tips though.

Oh, didn't notice you are using conky in the "background", pretty weird in a *Tiling* WM ^^

yeh, I still like to use floating windows.. I have different keybinds to start different size urxvt & tmux sessions for specific things.. I only really tile when I have files to edit or I just dont feel like using my mouse

I like it.Nice to see another scrotwm user Still not sure of this 9px Pragmata trendy... it looks indeed amazing, but too small that my eyes get angry with me since I spend 8+ hours in urxvt.

thanks yeh, i agree, the font is small, but I can read it just fine.. And I suppose i like it better than most pixel fonts.. And if I spent 8+ hours a day in a terminal id probably want to change the font too But I love Scrotwm, its perfect and simple
