I find that early morning or early evening when the sun is low seems to be the best time. But I.m still trying to master the panning! And then there is the auto focus. It never fails that the leaves in the forground are more in focus than the subject. Oh well thats the fun of it I guess! The hunt is on!

well early morning or early evening are very good, especially as the light will be on a more level plain to the subjects.
as a high shining light down casting shadows. there's no such thing as a right and wrong way to shoot around the light, its all down to what the photographer wants to show is how i work. but a good understanding is essential to give more scope. HHMM background and forground can be a nightmare
for AF allways nice to put a few manual adjustments in as the AF can on handle so much.
