Well in all honesty i cannot say i saw it going under and took the shot, thats impossible. How i got it is by knowing them and the fighting behaviour and anticipating
the parts of the fights where they are most active and shoot those moments, in this case i got a few from the lunge and grappling and then of this one disapearing under.

This is an amazing shot. I have always wanted to see the coot foot up close since the don't seem to be webbed. So this was a big treat, but the action inherent in this piece is just stunning.

and all different in there own ways. Yes those big feet, great for running on water and definatly fighting LOL but make them very clumsey on dry land and very comical on the Ice.
they aren't webbed but look to get wider after the knuckles.

we must be lucky then, one of the local bird watchers who keep counts on the birds told me we have had 200 birds on the Res at times. at times i've seen 20 to 30 birds
all sprinting together like a stampeed LOL. im trying to get a shot that does the sight the justice it deserves
