Very cool, would have been awesome if that grew into a tree on top of that pole xD

Also, in the midst of life, death. Water is life giving and life sustaining, therefore, it represents life.

So true!  I think the saying usually goes the way you've put it but I guess it can also go back the other way.  Many thanks for your comment.

Goodness me, nature certainly finds a way, if my eyes aren't deceiving me..

Thank you!  Your eyes are not playing you false.   Somehow, that one little shrub (I think that's what you'd call it) managed to find a foothold though I don't know how long it will last there.  The tide was on the way out when I took the photo (you can still see the high water mark on the pole, which is situated quite close to the mouth of the bar) so that's not really a problem but the river is prone to severe and regular flooding.  On those occasions, the remains of the old pier are completely under water and also get knocked about by the trees and logs which are washed down from the high country so I'm not sure that the shrub is entirely secure on its perch.   I owe you extra thanks for your comment - it set me off on a train of thought about the title of the piece and, as you can see, I've added to it.  I think it's far more fitting now.   And thanks too for the !

I'm most humbly honoured, my dear and you're very welcome.
I shall keep my fingers crossed for that little shrub, perhaps it will astound us all and survive.
