Description I'm back, but most likely not for long... I'm working on my crappy thesis, so any more original drawings will be impossible for me to do unless it's through a class assignment like the image above.

This is for my character design class. We had to re-imagine the characters Hansel and Gretel. I didn't spend a ton of time on the rendering but I guess it kinda works....

Done in Photoshop CS5. November 7, 2010.

EDIT: I toned down some of the dark colors and added a cool blue back light to make them pop more (a great suggestion by my professor). November 23, 2010.

They're wonderful! And so darned cute! If real life ever let's you, can we see other characters from this interpretation? Like the parents and the witch?

Thank you!

And I've never really thought about creating the other characters, but I have considered animating these ones. Not to animate the whole Hansel and Gretel story, but just a short little acting stint between the two characters, just because they look fun to animate.

This was actually for a character design class I did around a year ago. I was thinking about animating them, just for fun. And thanks!

Well, I've never had anyone ask me that before. Is this for a class assignment, or something?

Oh okay. Well, I guess so. I'm glad you're interested in modeling my characters. Just make sure you credit me for the designs, and i'd be interested to see the final models!

I've been formally studying animation for the past four years. I actually just graduated this past weekend! So now I'm going to be looking for work. I actually got accepted into the animation graduate program at UCLA, but my goal is to find work in the industry. Although I have nothing going on right now, I am going to Paris, France to attend a character animation program at Gobelins, which I'm super excited for! And thanks a lot! I hope to post more soon!

I guess I normally like to apply a fine, solid line, so I guess that's what I usually consider clean... lol
